Hyundai Creta N Line Overview

Updated on March 23, 2026

The Creta N Line is Hyundai's attempt to inject some sporting character into their formula. Drawing from Hyundai's motorsport-derived N performance sub-brand, it isn't a full-fledged performance model but it applies N-specific touches to the styling, cabin, and powertrain to create a more spirited experience.

Under the hood, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine powers the car, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT.

Establishing its physical footprint, it measures 4,330 mm long on a 2,610 mm wheelbase and rolls on 18-inch diamond-cut alloys. Outside, red bumper accents, a blacked-out grille, twin-tip exhaust tips, and a tailgate spoiler signal its N identity.

Inside, N-branded leatherette upholstery, metal pedals, and a sporty steering wheel carry the theme through. Complementing these sporty touches, the top variant adds a comprehensive ADAS suite and a Bose premium audio system.

Engine and Performance

The Creta N Line is powered exclusively by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Structurally, this four-cylinder, 16-valve unit delivers a peak power of 158 hp at 5,500 rpm. Its maximum torque of 253 Nm is available across a wide band from 1,500 to 3,500 rpm.

To manage this output, buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT. The DCT utilizes two separate clutch packs to provide faster, smoother gear changes than a conventional torque-converter automatic.

Opting for this DCT variant also unlocks several exclusive features, including paddle shifters, drive mode selection (Eco, Normal, Sport), and terrain traction modes (Snow, Mud, Sand).

fuel economy

Official fuel efficiency figures certified by the ARAI are 18 km/l for the 6-speed manual and 18.2 km/l for the 7-speed DCT automatic. Both figures apply to the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol powertrain used across the model line.

The SUV has a 50-litre fuel tank (there is no diesel or alternative fuel variant), forming the basis for its claimed driving range under standard test conditions.

Additionally, an Idle Stop & Go (ISG) system, which shuts the engine off at standstill and restarts it when you release the brake, is fitted as standard and helps reduce fuel consumption in stop-and-go traffic.

interior

The Creta N Line's cabin is built around a consistent N-theme, with leatherette seats, three-spoke steering wheel, gear knob, and door armrests all carry the N logo, with athletic red inserts threading through the black upholstery. Sporty metal pedals and red ambient lighting on select variants complete the picture.

Moving to passenger accommodation, seating is for five, with a 60:40 split-folding, 2-step reclining rear bench, a rear window sunshade, and rear AC vents, while a panoramic sunroof is standard.

On the tech front, infotainment ranges from an 8-inch touchscreen to a 10.25-inch HD system paired with a Bose 8-speaker setup, including a central speaker and subwoofer and a full-digital instrument cluster on higher variants. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are supported across the range.

Rounding out the cabin features, dual-zone climate control, wireless front and rear smartphone charging, electric parking brake with auto hold, and USB-C charging points are also on offer.

exterior

At 4,330 mm long, 1,790 mm wide, and 1,635 mm tall (measured with roof rails), the Creta N Line uses several N-specific design elements to differentiate itself in its segment. Athletic red highlights run across the front and rear bumpers and side sill garnishes, while N Line emblems appear on the blacked-out radiator grille, front fenders, and tailgate.

Complementing those cues, a tailgate spoiler and twin-tip exhaust finisher reinforce the sporty silhouette, while integrated roof rails and a shark-fin antenna are present as well.

Lighting is fully LED throughout – quad-beam headlamps, horizon-style DRLs and positioning lamps, sequential LED turn signals, LED indicators on the door mirrors, and rear LED tail lamps with a full-width horizontal strip at the back.

Rounding out the profile, the 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels wear an N logo, and red brake calipers are visible through the spokes.

safety

The Creta N Line comes standard with six airbags, driver, front passenger, and side curtain units on both sides. Active safety systems include ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), and a highline Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

Additionally, the top variant adds Hyundai SmartSense ADAS – forward collision avoidance for vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, junction-turning, and direct oncoming scenarios, including blind-spot collision warning and avoidance, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, driver attention warning, safe exit warning, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and smart cruise control with stop-and-go (DCT only).

Regarding crash safety testing, Global NCAP tested an earlier, 2-airbag variant of the standard Creta in 2022 (not the N Line) awarding it 3 stars each for adult and child occupant protection, with the bodyshell rated as unstable. The Creta N Line, which ships with six airbags and additional active systems, has not been tested separately.

competition

The closest rivals to the Creta N Line are the Kia’s second-gen Seltos X-Line, and Volkswagen Taigun.

The Creta N Line edges the Kia Seltos X-Line with lower entry pricing, a 6-speed manual gearbox option, and bolder N Line styling, despite sharing the identical 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. Conversely, the Seltos X-Line excels with its premium dark theme, standard 360° camera, and wider ADAS availability.

Against the Volkswagen Taigun, the Creta N Line delivers superior 158 bhp power, spacious cabin, and richer features like ventilated seats at similar pricing. Yet the Taigun shines in agile handling, robust build quality, and proven 5-star safety.
