Globally, there are multiple levels of ADAS (Level 1 - Level 5), but currently in India, ADAS Level 1 and ADAS Level 2 are most widely recognized and implemented across different car brands. So, let us know what the features are that are included in the ADAS Level 1 and ADAS Level 2, respectively.

ADAS Level 1

It includes driver-assistance features like forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. All these features are more of driver awareness features and the driver is still responsible for the most significant aspects of driving and controlling the car.

ADAS Level 2

It is a step up above Level 1 and includes features like partial control of steering, acceleration, and deceleration of the car. It has auto parking and other technologies that allow the car to accelerate, brake, and steer on its own as the situation requires. It also includes lane-keep assist and a blind-spot monitoring system to enhance the safety quotient of the car.

List of Cheapest ADAS Level 1 Cars in India

Interestingly, the MG Gloster for the first mass-produced car on Indian soil to introduce Level-1 ADAS. At the time of its launch, it included features like automatic emergency braking, forward collision assist, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control, to name a few. However, it has been discontinued in India.

Kia Sonet

Built on the same K2 platform as the Venue, Kia’s Sonet also comes with a suite of ADAS Level 1 features, available on the GTX+ and X-Line trims. The Sonet’s Level 1 suite covers forward collision warning (with avoidance assist for car/pedestrian/cyclist), lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, leading vehicle departure alert, and high beam assist.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno

The 2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno is the most affordable car in India to offer Level 2 ADAS. The suite is available only on the top Alpha (O) trim and includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning.

Honda Amaze

Honda’s compact sedan Amaze comes with Honda Sensing, which is essentially Level 2 ADAS. It includes adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, lane-keeping assist, road-departure warning, auto high beam and lead car departure alerts. Available only on the top ZX trim, it was previously the most affordable Level 2 ADAS car in India.

Mahindra XUV 3XO

ADAS on the XUV 3XO is available from the AX5 Luxury trim. The Level 2 suite includes adaptive cruise, forward collision warning, emergency braking, lane keep assist, and high-beam assist.

Honda City

The Honda City, a household name in India, now offers Honda Sensing Level 2 ADAS from its V trim itself. Features include adaptive cruise, collision mitigation braking, lane-keeping assist, and road-departure warnings.

Honda Elevate

Honda Elevate, the brand’s urban-friendly SUV, also gets Honda Sensing Level 2 ADAS, available only on the ZX trim. It includes adaptive cruise, lane-keeping assist, road-departure mitigation, and collision avoidance.

Hyundai Venue

The new-generation Venue gets Hyundai's SmartSense Level 2 ADAS on its top HX10 trim. Features include adaptive cruise control, lane-follow assist, autonomous emergency braking, and driver-attention warning. The Venue recently earned a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating too.

Hyundai Creta

Hyundai’s top-selling Creta has stepped up with the SmartSense Level 2 ADAS suite. Only available on the SX Tech and SX(O) trims, features include smart cruise control, lane-follow assist, rear-cross traffic warning, and driver-attention alerts.

Hyundai Verna

The new-gen Hyundai Verna is one of the most feature-loaded sedans in its class. The SmartSense Level 2 ADAS suite is reserved for the SX(O) iVT and SX(O) Turbo trims, and it includes lane-follow assist, adaptive cruise, and cross-traffic alerts.

Kia Syros

Kia’s Syros adds Level 2 ADAS but only on the premium HTX+ trim. The Level 2 suite includes adaptive cruise, blind-spot monitoring, lane follow, and automatic emergency braking. An optional HTX+(O) pack adds further features at an extra cost.

MG Astor

MG Astor features ADAS available only on the top Savvy Pro trim, with Level 2 features including adaptive cruise, speed assist, front collision warning, and rear-drive assist.

Kia Seltos

Level 2 ADAS on the Kia Seltos includes smart cruise control, lane keep assist, and blind-spot collision warning on top trims.

Mahindra Thar Roxx

Mahindra Thar Roxx blends rugged design with modern safety. Its Level 2 ADAS features include adaptive cruise, lane departure warning, and collision alerts. It offers off-road enthusiasts a safer, more versatile driving experience without losing its adventurous DNA.

Mahindra XUV 7XO

The Mahindra XUV 7XO offers Level 2 ADAS (Sense+) with up to 17 functions, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and High Beam Assist. It features dynamic visualisation and is available on higher trims like AX7 Tech.

Tata Safari
