MG Windsor EV Highlights
MG Windsor EV Overview

The Windsor EV is MG’s India-adapted electric crossover, based on the Wuling Cloud EV. It uses MG’s AeroGlide design language and a dedicated EV platform with short overhangs and a 2,700 mm wheelbase.
All variants use a single front-mounted electric motor that produces 136 PS and 200 Nm, with buyers able to choose between 38 kWh and 52.9 kWh battery options. Both use the CCS2 charging standard, with DC fast-charging support of up to 45 kW and 60 kW, depending on the battery pack.
Visually, the exterior gets full LED lighting, flush door handles and wheel options measuring 17 or 18 inches, while the cabin gets a dual-tone layout, multi-colour ambient lighting, and reclining rear seats.
Connectivity is handled by a large touchscreen supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while MG’s i-SMART suite adds remote vehicle controls, scheduled charging and multi-language voice commands.
For safety, equipment includes six airbags and electronic stability control across the range, although the Level 2 ADAS suite is reserved for the top variant.
Battery and Motor
Battery and Motor
The Windsor EV is equipped with a single front-mounted electric motor that produces a maximum power of 134 hp and peak torque of 200 Nm. It uses a single-speed automatic transmission and is offered with two high-voltage lithium-ion battery packs – 38 kWh or 52.9 kWh.
Range and Charging
Range and Charging
ARAI-certified range for the EV stands at 332 km on the 38 kWh battery and 449 km on the 52.9 kWh battery, measured under the standard MIDC test procedure that combines Part I and Part II cycles.
Both battery packs use CCS2 charging, where the 38 kWh variant supports DC fast charging up to 45 kW and takes roughly 45 minutes for a 20-80% charge, while the 52.9 kWh variant tops out at 60 kW and does the same 20-80% run in around 50 minutes. All these claims are made by MG.
In addition, on a 7.4 kW AC charger, the two variants take approximately 7 hours and 9.5 hours respectively for a full charge.
interior

Inside, the Windsor EV gets a dashboard finished in either knight black or a dual-tone ivory trim. This layout is detailed with gold accents and leather-wrapped surfaces along the upper dash, door panels, and driver armrest. From the driver's seat, a leather-wrapped, tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel with integrated audio controls sits ahead of a fully digital LCD instrument cluster, available in 7-inch or 8.8-inch formats.
The infotainment system utilizes either a 10.1-inch or 15.6-inch touchscreen, supporting USB, FM, Bluetooth, as well as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, routing audio through an available 9-speaker Infinity sound system.
Seating configurations offer a choice between fabric and leather upholstery, with front-seat ventilation available on select trims. Meanwhile, height-adjustable headrests are standard across both rows.
In addition, the rear cabin is designed to accommodate three adults, providing dedicated shoulder and knee room. Rear passengers are further supported by a 60:40 split-folding bench with a multi-level reclining function, dedicated AC vents equipped with PM2.5 filtration, LED reading lamps, and ambient lighting.

At the front, the Windsor EV is equipped with LED projector headlamps, connected LED daytime running lights, and StarStreak positioning lamps. An illuminated MG logo sits at the center of the fascia, while the charging port is integrated directly into the front fender.
Moving to the side profile, the exterior incorporates flush door handles, a chrome window beltline trim, a floating roofline, and a choice of either 17-inch steel wheels or 18-inch diamond-cut alloys with 215-section tyres.
At the rear, the vehicle's design is completed by SmartFlow LED tail lamps and a wide boot opening.
safety
safety
The Windsor EV comes with a comprehensive standard safety package, led by six airbags and all-wheel disc brakes. Stability and control are supported by an electronic stability program, alongside hill-start and descent assists. For daily convenience, the vehicle is equipped with rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, and automatic headlamps as standard.
Higher-tier variants expand this suite with a 360-degree surround-view camera and direct tire pressure monitoring. These models also feature a Level 2 ADAS package, which introduces automated assistance such as adaptive cruise control and emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
As of now, the Windsor EV is currently unrated by both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP.
competition
competition
The Windsor EV’s closest competitor in its segment is the Tata Nexon EV.
The Windsor leads in cabin space and practicality, boasting a longer wheelbase, a much larger boot (up to 604L), and advanced tech like a 15.6-inch touchscreen. Conversely, the Nexon EV leverages a wider service network, slightly more power, and a higher maximum range (489 km vs 449 km).
Ultimately, buyers prioritizing interior volume and connectivity favor the Windsor, while those seeking brand trust and nimble city performance choose the Nexon.
MG Windsor EV range
