The Thar Roxx Petrol, from ₹12.25 lakh to ₹19.51 lakh ex-showroom, is the better Thar, with a superior platform and comfortable rear seats for enhanced comfort and practicality. Its 2.0-litre turbo-petrol mStallion (1997 cc) delivers 160-174 bhp at 5000 rpm and 380 Nm between 1750 and 3000 rpm, with tuning variations by trim.

Transmission is a six-speed manual (160 bhp) or six-speed automatic (174 bhp). The Petrol Thar Roxx however, is only available with a rear-wheel drive configuration. On the safety front, it features six airbags, ESC, hill descent control, and a five-star Global NCAP rating for assured family safety.

Tata Sierra (168 BHP)

The Sierra's launch will also mark the debut of Tata's new 1.5-litre T-GDi turbo-petrol engine, likely producing around 168 bhp at 5000 rpm and 280 Nm of torque from 2000 to 3000 rpm.

A six-speed manual, along with an automatic option, is anticipated. Safety suite could include standard six airbags, ESC, and ADAS in top-end variants.

Tata Harrier and Safari (168 BHP)

Tata Motors has announced December 9, 2025, as the official launch date of the Petrol variants of the Harrier and Safari. Expected pricing stands at ₹13.50 lakh onwards for the Harrier, and ₹14.00 lakh for the Safari. Both SUVs are most likely to use the 1.5-litre T-GDi turbo-petrol engine from the Sierra, producing an identical 168 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. 

A six-speed manual will be standard, joined by an automatic transmission - likely a 6-speed torque converter to keep pricing affordable. Safety suite will be carried over from the diesel variants, with standard six airbags, ESC, advanced aids like autonomous emergency braking, and the 5-star Global NCAP rating as well.
