Hyundai is quietly working on the third-generation Creta, and latest spy shots from California have given us a good look at what to expect. The popular SUV is set for a big upgrade when it arrives.
Third-Gen Creta Expected Design Changes
Codenamed the ‘SX3’, the new Creta will ride on Hyundai’s advanced K3 platform, which underpins the latest Kia Seltos. This should make the SUV larger and more stable, with a stronger road presence.
Spy images suggest a bolder design with an upright front, taller hood, modern pixel-style lights, and possibly bigger wheels.

Advanced Pleos Infotainment System is the Highlight

Inside, the cabin looks completely refreshed, with the biggest highlight being Hyundai’s new Pleos Connect infotainment system. It brings a large central touchscreen and a slim digital display for the driver. This next-gen system offers a smartphone like feel, with an AI voice assistant and a modular app store.
What makes Pleos special is its Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) technology. Over-the-air updates will not just improve the software but can also enhance the engine and suspension tuning.
We expect the lower and mid-spec variants of the SUV to continue with a dual, connected screen setup for the driver MID and infotainment - likely borrowed from the current model's top-end variants.
The top-end variants on the other hand, should get the advanced Pleos system, though it would be surprising if Hyundai offers engine and suspension altering settings, as it could increase costs significantly.
Same Reliable Powertrains to Continue

Engine options are expected to stay unchanged, with the a 1.5-litre petrol, turbo-petrol, and diesel, paired to manual, CVT, DCT, and torque converter automatic transmissions depending on the engine.
A strong hybrid is also on the cards, expected to join later.

New Platform to Bring Better Safety

Safety should improve too, with the new K3 platform offering better crash protection, as seen on the Seltos, which achieved a full 5 Star Bharat NCAP rating. Additionally, the Level 2+ ADAS suite could get more features, as suggested by the dual front radars seen on the test mule.
With the compact SUV segment heating up with many recent launches like the Sierra, Victoris, and the facelifted Kushaq and Taigun, Hyundai may fast-track the third generation Creta's development for at least a debut by the festive season this year, with a launch likely by early 2027.
