The 2025 Sierra is currently offered with front wheel drive only. Even though the platform is capable of accommodating an all wheel drive system, Tata Chief Commercial Officer Vivek Srivatsa has indicated AWD Sierra versions for 2027 debut
Power output differs depending on the engine used. The 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol produces about 106 PS with 145 Nm. The 1.5 litre Hyperion turbo petrol raises performance significantly to around 160 PS with 255 Nm. The 1.5 litre diesel produces about 118 PS and up to 260 Nm in manual form and around 280 Nm when paired with the automatic gearbox.
The Sierra is a five seat SUV. Tata has not included a third row or offered any seven seat configuration. The design focuses on giving generous space and comfort for five occupants rather than stretching the cabin for additional seating.
The Tata Sierra comes with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that delivers 17.40 kmpl with the manual and 16.90 kmpl with the DCT, while the 1.5-litre turbo petrol automatic returns 15.30 kmpl. The 1.5-litre diesel stands out as the most efficient, offering 21.26 kmpl (manual) and 19.22 kmpl (automatic) as per ARAI ratings.
The Sierra has got 5 star in adult and child safety ratings as per BNCAP
The Tata Sierra is based on the ARGOS platform capable of CNG and AWD. However, Tata has not confirmed any CNG models, it is only available in Petrol and Diesel with AWD models coming in 2026-27
Tata officially tested the top speed of Sierra equipped with TGDi Hyperion engine and achieved 222 kmph. However, customer models are limited to 190 kmph
No, Sadly the 7 Speed DCT is only available with 1.5 base engine. The Hyperion gets a 6 Speed Automatic. It could be possibly due to the fact that the DCT is not torque rated for the turbocharged engine and would have resulted in reliability issues
