The Tata Sierra is offered with three engine options. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol produces 106 hp and 145 Nm, while the 1.5-litre TGDi Hyperion turbo-petrol delivers 160 hp and 255 Nm.

Tata claims the TGDi engine achieved 222 kmph during NATRAX testing, though top speed is electronically limited to 190 kmph. 

The 1.5-litre diesel develops up to 118 hp and 280 Nm, particularly on automatic variants.

The Sierra is based on Tata’s ARGOS platform and features terrain modes, frequency-dependent damping and Superglide suspension. It offers 205 mm ground clearance and a 10.6-metre turning diameter for urban and mixed-surface driving.

The ARAI-certified mileage figures for the Tata Sierra cover five unique engine and transmission combinations across its three available powerplants. The everyday 1.5-litre Naturally Aspirated (NA) Petrol engine delivers an efficiency of 17.40 kmpl when paired with the 6-speed manual transmission, which drops slightly to 16.90 kmpl with the 7-speed DCT automatic.

 For those opting for the performance-focused 1.5-litre Turbo Petrol (Hyperion) engine which comes exclusively with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox the certified mileage stands at 15.30 kmpl.

 Meanwhile, the highly efficient 1.5-litre Diesel (Kryojet) engine leads the entire lineup, claiming a top-tier fuel efficiency of 21.26 kmpl for the 6-speed manual variant and a very respectable 19.22 kmpl when mated to the 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
