The power delivery is smooth and linear; once you get rolling, acceleration remains steady and predictable rather than explosive. However, when pushing hard for overtakes, the performance remains modest, reflecting its focus on efficiency over sporty dynamics.

The regenerative braking is quite aggressive, meaning that lifting off the accelerator results in rapid deceleration. While this helps recover energy, it can feel abrupt if you're not expecting it.

For charging, the standard 3.3 kW wall box takes around 10 hours for a full charge, making it suitable for overnight charging. The DC fast charger supports up to 60 kW and can replenish 10–80% in about an hour. A 7.2 kW charger is also available, offering a mid-point solution with a 4-hour charging time, though it requires a robust electricity supply.

The ride quality is smooth and quiet in city conditions, but the lack of proper NVH insulation is noticeable in rush-hour traffic. The brakes perform decently but require early application at highway speeds to ensure effective stopping power.

Inside the Tiago EV LR, practicality meets digital connectivity. The cabin is anchored by a 26.03 cm floating touchscreen infotainment system by HARMAN, which supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for seamless smartphone integration. The digital instrument cluster provides real-time information, including battery level and energy flow.

The seats are upholstered in premium dual-tone fabric, with the driver’s seat offering six-way adjustability. The leatherette-wrapped steering wheel features mounted controls, enhancing convenience. Additional features include fully automatic climate control, a cooled glovebox, and a pollen filter.

As expected, plastic materials dominate the cabin, and while functional, the overall quality could have been better. In comparison, the MG Comet offers a superior interior experience.

Connectivity is one of the Tiago EV’s most advertised features. However, Tata charges around ₹4,000 per year for an infotainment system that often underperforms. During my drive, the system restarted on its own four to five times, forcing me to pull over to check if there was an issue.

The Tiago EV closely resembles its petrol counterpart, with a few distinguishing elements, such as the revised front grille and new wheels.

At the front, LED headlamps with follow-me-home functionality and automatic activation work alongside boomerang-style LED daytime running lights. A bold, all-black honeycomb grille gives the car a distinctive look. The shark fin antenna with GPS adds a premium touch.

The side profile is highlighted by R14 Hyperstyle wheel covers and body-colored ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, contributing to a cohesive design.

The Tiago EV LR offers a comprehensive safety package, including dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and an electronic stability program (ESP). It also comes with hill hold control, rear parking assist, i-TPMS, and a rear center three-point seatbelt with rear occupant sensors. Additional features like ISOFIX child seat mounts and a puncture repair kit enhance overall safety and convenience.

The Tata Tiago EV LR is a well-rounded electric hatchback that delivers practical urban mobility at an affordable price. Its extensive feature set—including a 26.03 cm touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, connected car technology, and a robust safety suite—makes it a compelling option in the compact EV segment.

While its performance prioritizes efficiency over excitement, the Tiago EV LR’s emphasis on practicality, connectivity, and safety makes it a reliable choice for daily commutes. A few improvements in ride refinement and interior material quality could elevate the overall experience, but as it stands, it’s a solid package for the price.
