Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Tour Overview

Updated on April 2, 2026

The Maruti Suzuki Tour M retains the 2nd generation Ertiga’s boxy silhouette. Its 4435 mm overall length and 2740 mm wheelbase maximise interior volume, complemented by simple exterior styling that features a chrome-winged grille, projector halogen headlamps, 3D LED tail lamps, and full wheel caps on 185/65 R15 tyres.

Inside, the cabin uses dual-tone materials and prioritizes space with 60:40 second-row split seats that slide and recline, alongside 50:50 third-row seats that fold flat. For entertainment, it includes a basic audio system equipped with Bluetooth, USB, and steering-mounted controls.

Powering it is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. The petrol version uses smart hybrid technology featuring idle start-stop, brake energy regeneration, and torque assist, to produce 102 hp and 139 Nm.

Standard safety equipment covers 6 airbags, an electronic stability program (ESP), ABS with EBD and brake assist, hill hold, and rear parking sensors.

Together, these elements make the Tour M a daily workhorse that balances passenger capacity, fuel efficiency, and fleet-friendly features.

Engine and Performance

The Tour M uses Maruti Suzuki’s 1.5-litre four-cylinder K15C engine, producing 102 hp at 6000 rpm and 139 Nm. While the CNG version shares the same displacement, its output is similar as on petrol, dropping to 87 hp at 5500 rpm and 121.5 Nm when running on CNG.

Both powertrain options utilize a 5-speed manual transmission with front-wheel drive (2WD).

fuel economy

ARAI-certified figures for the Tour M are 21.10 kmpl for the petrol variant and 26.54 kmpkg for the CNG variant. The petrol model includes smart hybrid functions that contribute to the claimed efficiency.

For fuel storage, petrol models feature a 45-litre tank, while the CNG variant adds a 60-litre water-equivalent cylinder to the setup.

interior

The Tour M’s cabin dashboard features dual-tone plastic panels with straightforward switchgear and a manual air-conditioning unit for the front vents. This setup includes an audio system with electrostatic touch buttons, Bluetooth, four speakers, USB, and AUX ports.

For the driver, the power-assisted and tilt-adjustable steering wheel carries audio and call controls, facing an instrument cluster with a coloured TFT multi-information display, tachometer, gear-shift indicator, and digital clock. This display provides fuel consumption data on petrol models and a dedicated CNG gauge with mode-time readout on gas versions.

Seating is arranged in three rows with adjustable headrests throughout. The second row offers 60:40 split seats that slide and recline with one-touch operation, while the third row provides 50:50 split seats with a recline function.

Rear is further supported by bottle holders in every row, second-row Type-C power sockets, and third-row air-conditioning with a three-stage blower control. To complete the interior layout, petrol versions include a split-type luggage board.

exterior

From the front the Tour M presents a dynamic chrome-winged grille flanked by projector halogen headlamps and body-coloured bumpers. This design transitions into a side profile marked by clean lines, body-coloured door handles and ORVMs with integrated turn signals, full wheel caps on 185/65 R15 tyres, and a 1690 mm height that aids easy entry.

The look is completed at the rear by 3D origami-style LED tail lamps, a roof spoiler, and a body-coloured back-door garnish with a subtle rear finish. To suit typical Indian road conditions, these dimensions are paired with 185 mm ground clearance and a 5.2-metre turning radius.

safety

The Tour M built on the Suzuki HEARTECT platform gets the following safety equipment – 6 airbags, an electronic stability program (ESP), hill hold control, and ABS with EBD and brake assist. For occupant protection, all seats use three-point ELR belts with reminders for every passenger and height adjustment on the front belts, while the front row specifically includes pre-tensioners and force limiters.

Security and convenience are addressed through an engine immobiliser, ISOFIX child-seat anchors on the second row, and speed-sensitive auto door locks. These features are further supported by a security alarm, rear parking sensors, and central locking.

In addition, the model carries a factory-fitted maximum speed limiter of 80 km/h as required for taxi use under CMVR rules.

As for crash testing, the Tour M does not have its own separate NCAP crash test rating, as it shares the same platform, body structure, and core safety design as the regular Ertiga, which carries a Global NCAP rating of 3-stars, scoring 23.63/34 in adult occupant protection and 19.40/49 points in child occupant protection.

competition

The Tour M’s closest rivals in its segment are the Toyota Innova Crysta and the Maruti Eeco Tour V.

Against the Innova Crysta Tour, the Tour M leads with far lower pricing and superior fuel efficiency (21 kmpl petrol or CNG vs Crysta’s 15.6 kmpl diesel), making it cheaper to run commercially. Conversely, the Crysta holds an edge in powertrain (2.4L diesel with 148 hp/343 Nm torque and RWD vs Ertiga’s 1.5L petrol/CNG at 103 hp/139 Nm), boot space (300L vs 209L), and overall cabin room for long-haul passenger duty.

Compared to the Eeco Tour V, the Tour M offers better performance (1.5L 102 hp vs Eeco’s 1.2L 80 hp), better refinement as a proper MPV, and modern features for passenger comfort. The Eeco leads purely on affordable pricing and higher cargo-oriented boot space in van-like configs (up to 510L+), suiting ultra-basic commercial hauls.
