Maruti Suzuki is preparing to introduce the highly anticipated seven seater version of the Grand Vitara, essentially a stretched three row derivative believed to be codenamed Y17. It is based on the existing Global C platform and is expected to arrive around mid 2026, possibly during the festive season to tap into family buyer demand.

 The biggest change is the addition of a third row for occasional six or seven seater use, supported by an extended wheelbase and longer body. Despite the added size, Maruti is expected to retain the Grand Vitara’s easy driving nature and strong fuel efficiency.
