Nissan Gravite Overview

Updated on February 18, 2026

The new Nissan Gravite is a sub-4 metre, 7-seater MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) designed for families, offering flexible seating and practicality. It is essentially a rebadged and restyled version of the Renault Triber, built on the same CMF-A+ platform, but with Nissan-specific design touches, features, and branding.

engine and performance

The Nissan Gravite comes with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 71-72 bhp (around 72 PS) at 6250 rpm and 96 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm. It is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT (automated manual) for easier city driving.

The engine is smooth for daily use, offering decent low-end torque for urban traffic and highway runs without feeling underpowered for its size. It handles family loads well, with responsive throttle and good drivability. A dual-cylinder CNG kit can be retrofitted at dealerships soon, promising even lower running costs. The setup uses a 40-litre fuel tank and provides adequate performance for a sub-4m MPV, focusing on reliability and efficiency rather than sporty thrills.

fuel economy

The Nissan Gravite delivers claimed fuel efficiency of 19.3 kmpl with the manual transmission and up to 19.6 kmpl with the AMT variant, making it one of the more economical options in its class. Real-world figures may vary based on driving conditions, traffic, and load, but users can expect around 16-18 kmpl in mixed city-highway use.

The lightweight build and efficient three-cylinder engine help achieve these numbers. With the upcoming CNG option, running costs will drop further, ideal for high-mileage family drivers. The 40-litre tank allows decent range per fill-up, reducing frequent stops at fuel stations.

interior

The interior of the Nissan Gravite is spacious and flexible, with a 7-seater layout that includes foldable second and third-row seats for easy cargo space. It offers thoughtful storage, modular seating that adapts to needs, and comfortable seating for long journeys. Higher variants feature a floating 20.3 cm (8-inch) infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, wireless charger, cooled glove box, push-button start, and ambient lighting in the Launch Edition.

Independent rear AC vents keep everyone cool, while options like lumbar support for the driver and premium upholstery add comfort. The cabin feels modern with multiple trim choices and practical touches like thoughtful storage pockets, making it family-friendly and versatile for daily use or trips.

exterior

The Nissan Gravite has a sleek and modern exterior design with Nissan-specific styling, including a bold front grille, sharp projector headlamps, and C-shaped elements. It features LED elements in higher trims, auto headlamps, and rain-sensing wipers for convenience.

The side profile shows unique accents like white tyre print decals in the Launch Edition, giving it a fresh look compared to similar models. At the rear, it has a clean tail design with good visibility. The sub-4 metre length (around 3995 mm) and 185 mm ground clearance make it easy to drive in cities and handle light bad roads

safety

Safety is a strong point in the Nissan Gravite, with features like 6 airbags (standard in most variants), ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, hill-start assist, and tyre-pressure monitoring in top models. It includes over 30 safety features overall, such as seatbelt reminders and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Higher trims add extras like a dual dash cam for recording drives. The structure benefits from the proven CMF-A+ platform, offering good protection

competition

The Nissan Gravite competes directly in the affordable 7-seater MPV segment against the Renault Triber (its close sibling with similar specs but different styling and features). Other rivals include the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (slightly larger, more powerful engine, strong sales), Toyota Rumion (premium badge, similar to Ertiga), and Kia carens
