Maruti Suzuki Invicto Overview

Updated on March 30, 2026

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto through its alliance with Toyota, shares its platform and strong-hybrid powertrain with the Innova Hycross, while receiving revised front and rear styling to match NEXA’s “Crafted Futurism” design language.

It uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with an electric motor and Ni-MH battery in a strong hybrid setup. Combined output reaches 186 hp, delivered through an e-CVT that supports EV mode, ECO, Normal, and Power driving modes.

The design focuses on clean proportions with modern detailing. Inside, the cabin consists of soft-touch surfaces, leatherette upholstery, and ambient lighting. Practicality is equally prioritized, with a flat second-row floor for easy movement, versatile seating, and a convenient powered tailgate.

Safety wise, equipment includes six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and active tech like vehicle stability control. In addition, it received a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, ensuring top-tier protection for both adult and child occupants in every journey.

Engine and Performance

The Invicto uses a single hybrid powertrain combining a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with an AC synchronous electric motor and a 168-cell Ni-MH battery pack.

Together, the system produces a combined output of 186 hp, while the electric motor alone generates 83 hp at 4,000 rpm and 206 Nm of torque.

Power is delivered to the front wheels through an e-CVT transmission in a two-wheel-drive layout.

fuel economy

The Invicto returns a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 22.16 km/l across all variants.

In addition, drive modes include ECO, Normal, and Power, with support for pure EV operation in suitable conditions.

interior

The Invicto’s cabin dashboard uses soft-touch materials with premium stitching and chrome accents, while ambient lighting runs across the roof and centre console. The leather-wrapped steering wheel includes chrome trim and wood accents on the co-driver side, along with mounted controls for audio, cruise, and voice functions.

Infotainment is handled by a SmartPlay Magnum 20.32 cm touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with USB and Bluetooth connectivity and a 6-speaker sound system. A 7-inch colour TFT multi-information display offers digital or analogue speedometer layouts, alongside ECO score, energy flow monitor, tyre pressure information, and trip data.

Seats are finished in leatherette upholstery, with the driver seat offering 8-way power adjustment and memory function. The second row features a 60:40 split with slide and recline functions, while the third row offers a 50:50 split and recline.

The cabin can be configured as a 7 or 8-seater (only on base), and rear passengers get roof-mounted AC vents, a second-row sunshade, armrests, cup holders, and reading lamps.

exterior

The Invicto follows NEXA’s “Crafted Futurism” design language.

At the front, a NEXWave grille with chrome accents and the Suzuki badge defines the face, flanked by twin NEXTre’ LED headlamps with signature DRLs in a triple-dot sweeping pattern. Linear LED turn indicators are integrated into the front bumper alongside the front fog lamps.

From the side, the long profile shows a high beltline, sharp character lines, and flared wheel arches with cladding. Body-coloured ORVMs include turn indicators and support electric adjustment, retraction, and auto-folding, while door handles are body-coloured with chrome finishes on higher trims.

At the rear, horizontal LED tail lamps, a chrome back-door garnish, and a high-mount stop lamp complete the design. The tailgate also supports one-touch powered operation. In addition, a shark-fin antenna sits on the roof, while roof rails are not offered as standard.

safety

The Invicto holds a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating based on tests conducted on the top 7-seater trim and base 8-seater trim. It scored 30.43/32 in adult occupant protection and 45/49 in child occupant protection.

Safety equipment includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control with hill start assist, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a 360-degree camera with dynamic guidelines, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. Three-point ELR seatbelts with reminders are provided for all seats.

In addition, the MPV includes an SOS emergency call function and a rear window defogger.

competition

The Invicto's closest rivals are the Toyota Innova Hycross and Kia Carnival in its segment.

The Hycross often leads in brand perception and dealer network strength, while the Invicto matches it on efficiency (both claim 23.24 km/l) and offers distinct NEXA styling and feature packaging in higher trims.

The Carnival sits in a higher price bracket with a diesel engine and more luxurious captain-seat-focused cabin. It provides stronger low-end torque and a more upmarket ride but trails significantly in fuel efficiency (around 14-15 km/l) compared to the Invicto's hybrid setup.
