Yes, the MG Majestor is essentially a rebadged and refreshed version of the Maxus D90, adapted for the Indian market with premium updates while retaining the core ladder-frame architecture and design elements from the global model. This positions it as a more upscale iteration compared to the existing MG Gloster, which also draws from the same platform.
The MG Majestor is set to rival full-size SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, and Jeep Meridian, focusing on off-road capability and premium features. Additional competitors may include the upcoming Volkswagen Tayron and Nissan X-Trail, as it targets the premium three-row SUV segment with a blend of ruggedness and luxury.
The Majestor offers features such as triple differential locks, Level 2 ADAS, 8 mode massaging seats, dual 12.3 inch displays, 64 colour ambient lighting, 3 zone climate control and Jio connected car integration, which are not available together in the Fortuner lineup.
Bookings are open at ₹41,000, with the full ex showroom pricing expected to be announced in April 2026.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin from May 2026, with early bookings likely to receive priority allocation.
It is powered by a 2.0 litre twin turbo diesel engine producing around 215 to 218 PS and approximately 480 Nm of torque, paired with an 8 speed automatic transmission.
The MG Majestor measures 5046 mm in length, 2016 mm in width and 1876 mm in height with a 2950 mm wheelbase. In comparison, the Toyota Fortuner measures 4795 mm in length, 1855 mm in width and 1835 mm in height, with a 2745 mm wheelbase.
