The MG Majestor is a body on frame SUV based on the Maxus D90 platform, developed to rival established players like the Toyota Fortuner. It blends a tough chassis and diesel powertrain with a feature rich interior and advanced technology. Offered in both 4x2 and 4x4 setups, and available in 6 seat and 7 seat formats, it targets large families and SUV buyers who want a mix of comfort, power and commanding presence.

engine and performance

Powering the MG Majestor is a 2.0 litre twin turbo diesel engine producing around 215 to 218 PS and close to 480 Nm of torque. This strong torque output makes it well suited for highway cruising, overtaking and carrying full passenger loads without strain. The engine is paired with an 8 speed automatic transmission that delivers smooth and responsive shifts. Buyers can choose between rear wheel drive and on demand 4x4 variants, depending on their usage needs.

The 4x4 version is equipped with multiple terrain modes including Rock, Sand, Mud and Snow, allowing the SUV to adapt to different surfaces. MG has concentrated all the driving features in a space called M-HUB with all the buttons and dials you will need

One of its biggest strengths is the presence of triple differential locks and an M Crawl low speed assist system, which helps maintain controlled movement over tough terrain. Combined with its ladder frame construction and high ground clearance, the Majestor is engineered to handle serious off road conditions confidently.

interior

Step inside the Majestor and the focus clearly shifts to luxury and technology. The dashboard is dominated by dual 12.3 inch displays that handle infotainment and digital instrumentation duties, giving the cabin a modern and upscale feel. The SUV offers ventilated seats with an 8 mode massage function, adding a level of comfort rarely seen in this segment.

A Galaxy View panoramic roof enhances the sense of space, while 3 zone automatic climate control ensures comfort for passengers across all rows.

The 6 seat layout features captain seats in the second row for added premium appeal, while the 7 seat configuration caters to larger families. Other highlights include 64 colour ambient lighting, dual wireless charging pads, a premium audio system and connected car technology with Jio integration. The overall cabin experience is designed to blend practicality with high end features, positioning the Majestor as a tech forward alternative.

exterior

The MG Majestor carries a bold and imposing design that instantly separates it from traditional rivals. At the front, it features a large grille integrated with sleek LED DRLs positioned on either side, along with vertically stacked squared LED headlamps that give it a modern and aggressive stance.

The SUV gets chunky skid plates at both the front and rear, reinforcing its rugged character. Blacked out window lines, strong body cladding and muscular proportions enhance its road presence. It rides on 19 inch alloy wheels that fill the arches well and add to its premium appeal. At the rear, connected LED tail lamps stretch across the tailgate, complemented by dual exhaust tips and an integrated roof spoiler with a high mounted stop lamp. Buyers can choose from Metal Black, Pearl White, Metal Ash and Concrete Grey, each shade designed to highlight the SUV’s strong lines and commanding silhouette.

safety

The MG Majestor comes equipped with a comprehensive safety package aimed at both active and passive protection. It features Level 2 ADAS functions that include advanced driver assistance systems designed to reduce fatigue and enhance highway safety.

A 360 degree camera system improves visibility during parking and tight manoeuvres, while electronic stability control, traction control and hill assist systems support safer driving across varied terrain. The SUV also includes multiple airbags, ABS with EBD and a strong body structure based on a ladder frame platform for enhanced durability.

Features like rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system and advanced braking systems further add to driver confidence. By combining traditional SUV toughness with modern electronic safety technologies, the Majestor attempts to deliver a balanced package that appeals to both family buyers and adventure focused owners.

competition

The primary rival to the MG Majestor in India is the Toyota Fortuner, which has long dominated the full size diesel SUV space. Other competitors include the Jeep Meridian and select ladder frame offerings in the premium SUV segment.
