Pros & Cons of Hyundai Venue N Line

Things We Like

  • The dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic display is NVIDIA-accelerated, only on the top variant.
  • All four wheels use disc brakes with red calipers as standard across both variants.
  • The top variant’s Level 2 ADAS suite covers 21 features including rear-radar-based systems like Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist.
  • The body structure uses 71% high-strength steel variants (including ultra-high and hot-stamped steel).
  • The Bose 8-speaker premium audio system on the top variant is a factory-fitted upgrade that most sub-4-metre SUV buyers have to forgo or add aftermarket.

Things We Don't Like

  • The entire N Line range is petrol-only, with no CNG or diesel option.
  • The base variant lacks a fully automatic climate control system, offering only manual air conditioning.
  • Over-the-Air (OTA) updates covering up to 20 vehicle controllers is exclusive to the top variant.
  • At 375 litres, the boot is workable for daily use, but the sub-4-metre body falls short of slightly larger sub-compact SUVs that offer 400 litres or more.

Hyundai Venue N Line Overview

Updated on March 30, 2026

Built on the standard Venue platform, the N Line is Hyundai's sport-inspired sub-variant. sitting above the regular Venue in equipment and attitude, while sharing its sub-4-metre footprint.

Under the hood, power comes from a single 1.0-litre Kappa Turbo petrol engine, paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT.

To match this mechanical setup, the N Line distinction goes beyond badges, with exclusive exterior detailing, a sport-tuned interior with red highlights and N-branded elements, and on the top variant, drive mode selection with traction control modes, a full Level 2 ADAS suite and a dual curved panoramic display cockpit.

Engine and Performance

The Venue N Line runs a single engine across all variants. It is Hyundai's Kappa 1.0-litre Turbocharged petrol, which produces 118 hp at 6,000 rpm, and 172 Nm of torque available between 1,500 and 4,000 rpm.

Mated to this engine, transmission options are a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. Note that the paddle shifters are standard on top and DCT-only on base.

fuel economy

The Venue N Line is officially rated by the ARAI. When paired with the 6-speed manual transmission, the powertrain delivers mileage of 18.74 km/l, while the 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) automatic variant achieves a slightly higher ARAI-claimed figure of 20 km/l.

Both transmission options draw from a standard 45-litre fuel tank.

interior

The cabin leans hard into its sporty identity, black leatherette seats with N branding, red ambient lighting (top variant only) along the crashpad and centre console, an N-emblem steering wheel, and metal pedals set the tone immediately.

The inner technology in the base model consists of a 10.25" ccNC (Connected Car Navigation Cockpit) infotainment display paired with a 10.66" digital TFT cluster, while the top variant upgrades to the dual 12.3" curved panoramic display (accelerated by NVIDIA).

Further enhancing the experience, Wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bose 8-speaker audio, ventilated front seats, and an electric 4-way driver's seat feature on select variants.

In terms of utility, boot space is a usable 375 litres, with 60:40 split-folding rear seats. Meanwhile, Rear passengers get reclining seats, AC vents, and a centre armrest with cupholders.

exterior

The Venue N Line wears its sporty intent visibly. The dark chrome radiator grille carries an N Line emblem, flanked by quad-beam LED headlamps with twin-horn LED DRLs and a horizon LED positioning lamp. LED sequential turn indicators add a distinctive animated flourish.

At the rear, a wing-type spoiler integrates the high-mounted stop lamp, while twin-tip exhausts and bold front and rear skid plates reinforce the sporty character.

Along the profile, bridge-type roof rails with red highlights and colour-accented side sill garnishes complete the N Line's exterior identity and rounding out the stance, R17 diamond-cut alloy wheels with N emblems and red brake calipers are fitted across all variants.

safety

As of now, the Venue N Line has not received a Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP safety rating. However, ANCAP awarded the standard Hyundai Venue a 4-star rating (tested 2019, 1.6L petrol variant). That specific result does not directly apply to the N Line's 1.0L turbocharged variant.

On the passive safety front, the car offers 6 airbags (dual front, side, and curtain) as standard across all variants, along with a body structure using 71% high-strength steel variants.

Active safety includes ABS with EBD, ESC, VSM, HAC, EPB with auto-hold, and ISOFIX child-seat anchors.

The top variant goes further, adding a full Level 2 ADAS suite (21 features) including front parking sensors (FPAS), lane keeping assist, smart cruise control with stop-and-go, blind-spot collision avoidance, and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, among others.

competition

Hyundai’s Venue N Line has two close rivals in its SUV segment, namely Syros by Kia and Kylaq by Skoda.

Syros shares the same 1.0-litre turbo-petrol underpinnings and offers a marginally larger boot (390 vs 375 litres) and diesel engine options, neither of which the Venue N Line provides. However, the N Line counters with a more comprehensive ADAS suite and a superior audio-display package at the top variant.

Kylaq holds a confirmed 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, an advantage the Venue N Line can't currently match. Whereas Kylaq's driving dynamics are well regarded, but its infotainment setup and feature count fall noticeably short of the Venue N Line’s top variant’s offering.
