Mahindra BE 6 Key Specifications
Mahindra BE 6 Overview

The Mahindra BE 6 is the first model in Mahindra’s Born Electric series of purpose-built EVs, built on the INGLO platform and assembled in India, and has a sleek coupe roofline with premium cladding, BI-LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, and illuminated logos at both ends.
Inside, the cabin blends premium fabric or leatherette upholstery with advanced technology, such as 12.3-inch screens equipped with 5G connectivity, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, built-in Amazon Alexa and ChatGPT, alongside over 60 integrated apps. In addition, it delivers a 455-litre boot plus a 45-litre frunk.
Powering the vehicle is either a 59 kWh or 79 kWh battery, paired to a motor that generates 173 hp or 285.5 hp and 380 Nm of torque. This configuration yields a claimed range of 548 km for the smaller pack and 683 km for the larger, supported by fast charging capable of 20-80% top-up in 20 minutes.
On the safety end, 6 or 7 airbags, an electronic stability program (ESP), and driver drowsiness detection, while ADAS are added to higher trims, all protected by a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty for the first registered owner.
Battery and Motor
Battery and Motor
The BE 6 uses a single rear-mounted electric motor driving the rear wheels. The 59 kWh battery variants develop 231 hp power and 380 Nm torque. The 79 kWh battery version produces 285.5 hp power with the same 380 Nm torque.
Range and Charging
Range and Charging
The BE 6’s 59 kWh battery pack returns a claimed range of 548 km under the MIDC P1+P2 cycle, while the 79 kWh pack stretches that figure to 683 km.
On the charging front, the BE 6 is well covered. At home, it works off a standard 3-pin socket with the included portable charger, or faster through a 7.2 kW or 11.2 kW wall box.
For longer trips, it supports DC fast charging via CCS2 – the 59 kWh variant pulls up to 140 kW and the 79 kWh up to 180 kW, both hitting 20-80% in about 20 minutes at a compatible charger.
The car also features four levels of regenerative braking plus an auto mode, and single pedal drive is standard across the range, both useful for squeezing more out of each charge in city traffic.

Inside the BE 6, the dashboard adopts a clean, modern layout with ambient lighting options and soft-wrapped surfaces in upper trims. From the driver's seat, the steering wheel integrates controls and an electronic shifter in select trims. This setup flows into a dual 12.3-inch super screen array, housing both the central infotainment system and the instrument cluster, complete with a performance dashboard view.
This infotainment hub offers superfast 5G connectivity, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, built-in Amazon Alexa, and ChatGPT. It also includes a Fun&Work entertainment and productivity suite with over 60 in-built apps for OTT, social media, news, and shopping, all supported by full over-the-air (OTA) updates covering infotainment, maps, vehicle features, and the powertrain.
Moving to the vehicle's comfort features, seating uses premium fabric or leatherette upholstery, paired with a height-adjustable driver seat and a front row armrest with storage.
In the back, the 60:40 split rear bench provides a two-step recline and adjustable headrests. Rear occupants are further supported by dedicated AC vents, an armrest with a cup holder, soft door armrests, and console storage cooling

Visually up front, the BE 6 features BI-LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, an illuminated logo, and an additional frunk with a drain hole.
At the side, the vehicle shows its coupe-SUV stance with premium finish exterior cladding and black accents, with wheel sizing to 18-inch or 19-inch with 245-section tyres.
In addition, the flush door handles (which feature electrically deployed front door handles in higher trims) and ORVM turn indicators add functional detail.
Following these to the back, at the rear, LED tail lamps, a centre lamp with animations in select versions, sequential turn indicators, a rear spoiler and an illuminated logo complete the athletic tail.
safety
safety
The BE 6 establishes its core passenger protection through its crash test ratings, receiving a 5-star rating from BNCAP, scoring 31.97 out of 32 points for adult protection and 45 out of 49 for child occupant protection.
This safety rating was achieved thanks to its 6 or 7 airbags, an electronic stability program (ESP), and ISOFIX child seat mounts. This is further reinforced by driver drowsiness detection, a rear defogger, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) featuring individual tyre readouts.
For handling low-speed maneuvers, an electronic park brake, rear park sensors, and a reverse camera are included as standard. Upgrading to select versions improves this visibility with the addition of front park sensors and a 360-degree camera.
Finally, top trims introduce the ADAS suite, including the automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert, streamlined lane-keeping assists, forward collision warnings, among others.

competition
The BE 6’s competes with the Tata Curvv EV and the Hyundai Creta Electric, as its close rivals in the segment.
The Tata Curvv EV shares a similar coupe-SUV silhouette and benefits from Tata’s established EV ecosystem and service reach, while the BE 6 offers longer claimed MIDC range and higher top-end power output.
The Hyundai Creta Electric provides a more conventional upright SUV shape and leverages Hyundai’s extensive dealer and service network, whereas the BE 6 counters with its distinctive styling, RWD layout and integrated connectivity features such as built-in ChatGPT and 5G.
