Mahindra has released the first teaser of the upcoming BE 6 SPORTEQ, revealing several updates that will distinguish this version of the electric SUV from the standard BE 6.
The new model is scheduled to make its debut on August 15, coinciding with India’s 79th Independence Day.
With its updated styling, three-screen cabin and more premium interior, the BE 6 SPORTEQ could further strengthen Mahindra’s position in the rapidly expanding electric SUV segment.
Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ Gets A Fresh Exterior

The teaser suggests that the BE 6 SPORTEQ will feature subtle exterior revisions, including a new matte grey paint finish.
The darker shade gives the electric SUV a more futuristic appearance and complements its already distinctive, spaceship-inspired design.

While the teaser does not reveal all the exterior changes, Mahindra is expected to introduce additional styling updates to give the SPORTEQ a more premium and exclusive identity.

Three-Screen Dashboard Finally Comes To The BE 6

One of the biggest changes is expected inside the cabin. The BE 6 SPORTEQ will reportedly feature a three-screen layout, bringing it in line with the other Mahindra Born Electric SUVs. The standard BE 6 is currently the only model in brand's electric range without the three-screen arrangement.
The SPORTEQ addresses this with the same pair of 12.3-inch displays for the driver and centre console, along with a similarly sized screen for the front passenger. This setup should give the BE 6 SPORTEQ a more upmarket and technologically advanced cabin.

The cabin will also receive a new colour theme, with the teaser revealing a tan interior and brown-toned seat upholstery. This combination is expected to create a more luxurious ambience compared with the sportier cabin theme of the standard BE 6.
Two Battery Options Expected
The BE 6 SPORTEQ is expected to retain the existing electric powertrain options. These include 59kWh and 73kWh battery packs, both paired with a single electric motor.
The larger battery pack should continue to be the preferred choice for buyers seeking a longer driving range, while the smaller battery option is likely to offer a more accessible entry point.

Feature List Gets More Advanced
The BE 6 is already among the better-equipped electric SUVs in its segment, and the SPORTEQ is expected to retain its extensive equipment list.
It's key features is expected to include:
- Panoramic glass roof
- Dual-zone climate control
- 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system
- Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Power-operated tailgate
- Ventilated front seats
- Wireless smartphone charger
- Connected vehicle technology
The addition of a dedicated passenger display and the revised interior could further enhance the BE 6’s technology-focused appeal.
Mahindra BE 6 Price And Rivals
The Mahindra BE 6 is currently priced between Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The SPORTEQ is expected to command a premium over the standard model, with exact pricing to be announced at or closer to the launch.
Once launched it will closely compete with the MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Sierra EV, and VinFast VF7.
