Tata Motors has officially launched the all new Sierra EV in India at an introductory starting price of Rs 18.79 lakh (ex showroom). Marking the return of one of India's most iconic SUV nameplates, the Sierra EV is Tata's most technologically advanced passenger EV yet.
Built on the Acti.ev platform, it introduces dual battery pack options, rear wheel drive and quad wheel drive configurations, Level 2+ ADAS, adaptive suspension and a claimed MIDC driving range of up to 665 km.
Bookings for the Sierra EV are now open, while customer deliveries will begin from July 15, 2026. Tata Motors also revealed that its EV bookings have increased three times compared to the same period last year.
Sierra EV Price And Variants

Tata has priced the Sierra EV between ₹18.79 lakh and ₹25.99 lakh (ex-showroom), offering buyers a choice of 63 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs, along with both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations.
The entry-level Pure variant is exclusively available with the smaller 63 kWh battery, while the larger 75 kWh pack starts from the Adventure trim.

The Tata Sierra EV is offered with two Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery packs featuring Tata's latest cell-to-pack battery architecture, delivering an energy density of 141 Wh/kg for improved efficiency without significantly increasing weight. Buyers can choose between a 63 kWh battery with a claimed MIDC range of 565 km or a larger 75 kWh battery offering up to 665 km of claimed range. Tata expects the smaller battery to deliver around 440 to 460 km in real-world driving, while the larger pack should comfortably return 510 to 530 km on a full charge.
The Sierra EV is available with both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations. The RWD variants use a single electric motor producing 238 PS and 315 Nm, while the flagship dual-motor AWD version develops 209 PS rear + 140 PS front) and 500 Nm of torque, enabling a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in just 5.8 seconds.

The 75 kWh AWD variant offers a claimed range of 624 km, while the 75 kWh RWD version delivers the maximum 665 km. Charging duties are handled by a 120 kW DC fast charger, capable of replenishing the battery from 20 to 80 percent in around 26 minutes, while adding up to 263 km of claimed range in just 15 minutes.
Home charging options include a 7.2 kW AC wall charger and a 3.3 kW portable charger. The Sierra EV also features an illuminated charging port that changes colour to indicate charging status, along with 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and 5 kW Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) functionality, allowing it to power appliances or even charge another compatible EV. To further enhance ownership peace of mind, Tata Motors is offering a lifetime battery warranty for the first owner of the Sierra EV.
Tata Sierra EV exterior design

The Tata Sierra EV stays very close to the design of the ICE-powered Sierra, preserving the SUV's signature upright stance and modern-retro styling inspired by the original Sierra from the 1990s.
While the overall silhouette, distinctive wraparound rear quarter glass, flush-fitting door handles, connected LED lighting, and muscular wheel arches remain unchanged, Tata has introduced a few EV-specific styling cues to help distinguish it.
At the front, the Sierra EV gets a cleaner fascia with a redesigned bumper featuring larger gloss black inserts and a more aerodynamic look. Unlike the ICE version, it does not feature the black trim panel between the LED light bar and headlamps or the 'SIERRA' lettering above the Tata logo.
The rear is almost identical to the petrol and diesel model, apart from EV badging and unique alloy wheel designs aimed at improving aerodynamic efficiency. The SUV rides on 19-inch alloy wheels on higher variants and offers 205 mm of ground clearance, making it suitable for Indian road conditions.

Step inside, and the Sierra EV offers the same spacious cabin layout as the ICE model, with only minor differences in upholstery colours and trim finishes.
The dashboard is dominated by a modern triple 12.3-inch display setup that integrates the digital instrument cluster, infotainment touchscreen, and a dedicated passenger display.
Tata has also retained the SUV's generous practicality, with a boot capacity of 622 litres up to the roof, 450 litres below the parcel shelf, and up to 1,257 litres with the rear seats folded.
The feature list is among the most comprehensive in the segment.
Depending on the variant, buyers get a 12-speaker JBL Black audio system with Dolby Atmos support, ventilated and powered front seats with memory function, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, multi-colour ambient lighting, a powered tailgate, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology with over-the-air updates, a digital key, DrivePay for in-car digital payments, and Auto Park Assist.
Auto Summon And L2 ADAS

The Sierra EV is equipped with Level 2+ ADAS featuring Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Summon Mode and Advanced Park Assist. It also gets a 540 degree surround camera that combines the regular bird's eye view with an underbody transparent view for easier parking and obstacle detection.
Other highlights include an electronic parking brake, all wheel disc brakes, powered gesture operated tailgate and EV specific route planning integrated into the infotainment system.

During the launch, Tata also showcased footage of an internal crash test where the passenger compartment remained intact and all airbags deployed successfully. While official Bharat NCAP crash test results are still awaited, the Sierra EV is widely expected to achieve a five star safety rating based on Tata's recent safety record.
