Maruti Baleno Facelift Launches on September 5 With New Styling and Features

Maruti Suzuki has announced 5 September 2026 as the launch date for the facelifted Baleno. The current second-generation Baleno has been on sale since 2022, making it four years since its last meaningful update.
The timing also makes commercial sense, landing the car just ahead of the festive season when dealership footfall peaks.
Expected Changes on the Outside and Inside
Spy shots have been circulating for a few months now, and the exterior updates look like a considered refresh. The front gets a reworked grille with a thin horizontal chrome bar connecting both headlamps, along with a redesigned bumper that appears to drop the fog lamp cutouts. The headlamps, alloy wheel design, and rear end see only minor changes, if any.

The interior layout looks largely unchanged from spy shots, with Maruti expected to freshen things through revised upholstery and updated trims. The more meaningful cabin additions could be a sunroof and ambient lighting, both of which rivals currently offer.
Existing kit like the segment-exclusive heads-up display, 9-inch infotainment, automatic climate control, and the analogue-digital instrument cluster are all expected to carry over.
Powertrain and Pricing
The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol with both manual and AMT options continues, as does the CNG variant. Whether the 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol from the Fronx and Brezza finds its way in here is the one engine question worth watching on launch day.
The Baleno currently starts at Rs 5.99 lakh, ex-showroom. A modest price increase is likely, with the Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20 keeping Maruti's pricing competitive.
