Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift Launched at Rs 6.10 Lakh with a New Engine, Level 2 ADAS and Ventilated Seats

Maruti Suzuki has launched the facelifted Baleno at Rs 6.10 lakh ex-showroom as an introductory special festive price for the base Sigma Petrol MT, Rs 20,000 more than the outgoing model. Bookings are open and buyers can register their interest on the official NEXA website.

At the launch, Maruti pointed out that one in three premium hatchbacks sold in India is a Baleno, and this update is clearly aimed at keeping it that way.

Exterior

Most of the changes are concentrated at the front. The grille has grown and now houses the radar for the ADAS suite, finished in chrome and giving the car noticeably more road presence. The new grille is paired with a redesigned front bumper, while the fog lamp housings have also been redesigned.

The Suzuki logo has also moved from the grille to above it. Additionally, chrome fender garnish and a shark-fin antenna are new to the profile.

The large swept-back LED headlamps, three-block DRL signature, 16-inch alloy wheels, curvy roofline, chrome door handles, and LED indicators on the ORVMs all carry over. The rear gets only a reprofiled bumper, with the slim C-shaped LED tail lamps and overall proportions unchanged.

Dimensions stay at 3,990mm long, 1,745mm wide, 1,500mm tall, on a 2,520mm wheelbase. Enigmatic Teal is a new addition to the colour palette.

Interior and Features

The layered dashboard design is retained, with a free-standing 9-inch touchscreen, slim central AC vents, and a large silver insert. The twin-dial analogue cluster with a colour TFT MID continues, as does the flat-bottom steering wheel and physical climate controls.

The cabin now gets a black-and-blue colour scheme with silver highlights, giving the interior a slightly fresher look. Also, the rear seat remains spacious and comfortable.

New features include ventilated front seats, which is a segment-first, semi-leatherette seats, a Clarion sound system, and a Qi wireless charging pad with active cooling.

Carried over are the head-up display, automatic climate control, cruise control, auto-dimming IRVM, power-adjustable ORVMs, height-adjustable driver seat, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Powertrain

The older K12C four-cylinder petrol engine has been replaced by the Z12E 1.2-litre three-cylinder, the same engine introduced with the Swift in 2024. The petrol version makes 83 PS and 112 Nm, available with a 5-speed manual or AMT.

The CNG version produces 70 PS and 102 Nm, and now also gets both manual and AMT gearbox options, making the Baleno the first Maruti to offer a CNG-AMT combination.

Safety

A Level 2 ADAS suite is new to the Baleno, which none of its segment rivals currently offer this. It covers adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, emergency braking, and high-beam assist.

Standard across all variants are six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill hold assist, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, TPMS, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX anchors, and a rear washer, wiper, and defogger.

Bookings, Prices and Variants

Bookings for the new Baleno are now open, with deliveries slated to begin later this month. As for prices, only the Sigma Petrol MT price has been confirmed. Prices for all other variants across petrol, CNG, and AMT combinations are yet to be announced.

Rivals

The 2026 Baleno competes with the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, and its badge-engineered twin, the Toyota Glanza. The Level 2 ADAS and segment-first ventilated seats are its sharpest differentiators right now.

The full value case against rivals will only be clear once Maruti confirms the remaining variant prices.
