Carmakers Who Have Announced Price Hikes For 2026

As 2026 has started, several major carmakers in India have hiked prices of their models. Rising input costs, higher logistics expenses, and sustained currency pressure are the key reasons behind these revisions.

With the Indian rupee continuing to weaken against major global currencies such as the euro, manufacturers are adjusting prices to protect margins.

The hikes range between 2 percent and 3 percent, impacting both luxury and mass market cars, potentially increasing prices by several thousand rupees or more, depending on the model.

BMW Group India has announced a price hike of up to 2% across its BMW and MINI vehicle lineup, effective July 1, 2026. The company cited rupee depreciation and rising logistics costs as the primary reasons behind the increase. The revision will apply to both locally assembled and imported models.

“To protect our premium standards against macroeconomic headwinds, specifically rupee depreciation and escalating logistics costs, we are introducing a price increase of up to 2% across our portfolio, effective 1 July 2026.”
