The Toyota Hilux is entering its ninth generation, and the India-bound version builds on the pickup's reputation for durability while addressing where the outgoing model felt dated.

Up front, it gets slim LED headlamps, a wordmark-style badge replacing the traditional Toyota emblem, and a wide honeycomb grille. The side profile retains clean panelling and squared cladding, while the rear features redesigned tail lamps.

Inside is where the biggest changes arrive. Dual 12.3-inch displays headline a dashboard inspired by Toyota's larger SUVs, joined by a redesigned three-spoke steering wheel. Physical controls remain, balancing the tech-heavy layout with usability.

The new Hilux is expected to continue with the familiar 2.8-litre turbo-diesel, paired with manual and automatic transmissions and standard four-wheel drive. A 48V mild-hybrid system, offered in select overseas markets, has not been confirmed for India.

A wider driver-assistance suite is also expected, with features like a 360-degree camera and terrain-specific drive modes.

Complete details are expected to be revealed closer to launch, with the new Hilux likely to reach Indian showrooms sometime in mid-2026.
