The Renault Kwid was introduced in India in 2015 and underwent a redesign in 2019. The existing model has been available for almost seven years and is quite outdated.

According to previous spy images, it might receive new headlamps with Y-shaped LED DRLs and taillamps, along with revised bumpers. The overall design could be borrowed from the Dacia Spring EV.

Other expected features include standard six airbags, a bigger touchscreen, a redesigned steering wheel, and an updated instrument cluster.

The Kwid is currently offered solely with a 1.0-litre petrol engine developing 69 hp and 92.5 Nm of torque, paired with either a manual transmission or an AMT, which could be available in its iteration too.

Nissan Tekton

Nissan Tekton

Nissan has been teasing the launch of the Tekton - the automaker's badge-engineered version of the Renault Duster, showcasing features like LED headlights, pull-type door handles in the front and C-pillar-mounted ones at the back, multi-spoked alloy wheels, a twin-ridge spoiler, and C-shaped tail-light designs.

The Tekton will come with 1.0-litre (100 hp, 166 Nm) and 1.3-litre (163 hp, 280 Nm) turbo petrol engine options. Both will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, while a 6-speed DCT will be exclusive to the 1.3.

The new SUV from JSW-MG Motor is set to launch in July 2026 and is expected to be a rebadged model of the Wuling Starlight 560 SUV, for which a design patent was submitted in India in March. The Starlight 560 comes with LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and LED rear lights.

Inside, the seven-seater SUV features a dual-colour interior, a 12.8-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, a 6-speaker audio setup, a 50W wireless phone charger, and a panoramic sunroof.

In global markets, the Starlight 560 comes in both plug-in hybrid (1,000 km+ expected range) and electric vehicle (530 km CLTC-claimed range) versions. It is yet to be determined which powertrain will come to India.

We anticipate it will be competitively priced, similar to other MG models.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift

The current generation of the Maruti Brezza was introduced in 2022, and it is expected to receive a mid-cycle refresh in the second half of July. Multiple test mules have been spotted previously, and a production-ready model was also recently seen partially uncovered.

The most significant update is expected under the hood, with the compact SUV set to receive Maruti's 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine producing 100 hp and 148 Nm. It will likely be paired to a new 6-speed manual transmission, which was observed in one of the interior spy images previously.

The current, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine is expected to continue, with CNG variants likely to feature a Victoris-style underbody tank arrangement to free up additional space in the trunk.

Other expected updates include redesigned bumpers, new alloy wheels, and an upgraded 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen to replace the existing 9-inch version.

Skoda Kodiaq RS

Skoda Kodiaq vRS

The initial 50 units of the Skoda Kodiaq RS designated for India have alrady sold out even before the price launch. Contrary to the regular Kodiaq, the RS features more dynamic bumpers, 20-inch alloy rims, a bigger roof spoiler, dual exhaust outlets, and distinctive RS branding.

Under the hood, the RS features a modified variant of the standard Kodiaq's 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, delivering 265 hp and 400 Nm - 61 hp and 80 Nm over the standard version. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DCT and an all-wheel-drive system. Skoda claims a 0-100 kph acceleration time of 6.3 seconds.

The Kodiaq RS will be a CBU and could be priced between Rs 60 lakh and Rs 65 lakh, ex-showroom.

Honda ZR-V

The Honda ZR-V is set to be the carmaker's latest flagship SUV in India, set to be brought as a CBU. Pre-bookings already opened in May.

Significant features include LED headlights, 18-inch alloy rims, wraparound taillights, a 9-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, dual-zone climate control, a wireless phone charger, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.

The ZR-V hybrid features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with two electric motors, generating a combined 184hp and 315Nm. An e-CVT transmits power to the front wheels, and the SUV reportedly achieves a 0-100 kph time of 8 seconds, with Honda asserting a mileage of 22.79 kpl for the hybrid SUV.

As a CBU import, the Honda ZR-V hybrid could cost approximately Rs 45 lakh, ex-showroom, and will rival the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tayron R Line.

Toyota Hilux

Toyota Hilux 2026

Toyota introduced the 9th-generation Hilux internationally in 2025, built on the brand's IMV body-on-frame architecture.

It features sleeker LED headlights, a honeycomb grille, tail-lamps arranged vertically with C-shaped LED daytime running lights, and a robust rear bumper. The interior is far more contemporary, boasting dual 12.3-inch screens, a redesigned steering wheel, a wireless charging station, heated and cooled front seats, and additional features.

The new Hilux is anticipated to come with Toyota's 204 hp, 500 Nm 2.8-litre diesel engine featuring a 48V mild hybrid system like the Fortuner Neo Drive.

The current Hilux is available at a price range of Rs 28.52 lakh to Rs 36 lakh, ex-showroom, with a noticeable premium expected for the upcoming model.

Audi A6

Audi A6 2026

Audi recently revealed the completely redesigned 2026 A6 sedan. It will accompany the Avant station-wagon variant that was revealed in March earlier this year.

On the design front, the Audi A6 features stylish LED headlights and a prominent hexagonal grille, resembling the e-tron GT. A notable lip on the bonnet is also present. The side air intakes have been enhanced for improved airflow. The rising rear creates a notchback-like appearance. The LED tail lights feature sharp detailing, and a light strip extends across the rear.

As for the wheels, Audi provides choices ranging from 18 to 21 inches.

Inside, the updated A6 sedan features an 11.9-inch digital instrument panel and a 14.5-inch infotainment display. A 10.9-inch display for the front passenger and a head-up display can be opted for. It features a Bang & Olufsen audio system that offers either 16 or 20 speakers.

All-wheel steering is also available as an option, adjusting the rear wheels up to five degrees opposite to the front wheels, enhancing manoeuvrability in urban traffic and narrow turns.

The latest A6 Sedan will be manufactured in Neckarsulm and marketed globally, and is expected to launch in India by the end of July 2026. The price of the standard A6 featuring the 2.0 TFSI begins at approximately 54 lakhs.
