The Alto K10 uses a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine. In petrol form, it produces 68.5 hp and 91.1 Nm of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AGS automated manual.

Meanwhile, the CNG variant is tuned for 57 hp and 82.1 Nm and is paired exclusively with the 5-speed manual.

For fuel efficiency, the ARAI-certified figures are 24.39 kmpl for the petrol manual and 24.9 kmpl for the petrol AGS, both drawing from a 27-litre fuel tank.

Alternatively, the CNG manual delivers 33.40 km/kg. This variant carries a 55-litre cylinder, alongside a small petrol reserve.

Inside the Alto K10, the dashboard uses a simple, flat layout finished in hard plastics with black and grey accents. Infotainment is handled by a seven-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen that supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, USB, and auxiliary inputs, while the steering wheel conveniently carries audio and phone controls.

Seating wise, the front seats offer adequate cushioning and manual adjustment for the driver. They provide enough headroom for most adults, although legroom feels limited for taller drivers.

In the back, seating works well for two adults with acceptable legroom; however, shoulder space restricts a third passenger and headroom is tight.

Storage options include front cupholders, a glovebox, and a rear parcel tray. Finally, the boot holds 214 litres and is well-shaped, though the rear seat does not fold.

Overall, the Alto K10’s design prioritises visibility and ease of parking over aggressive styling. From the front, it shows a bold hexagonal honeycomb grille flanked by standard halogen headlamps.

The side view is clean and compact with straight lines, featuring 13-inch steel wheels fitted with honeycomb-patterned covers and manual side mirrors.

At the rear, it uses simple combination lamps and an understated bumper.

Note that no roof rails are fitted.

For safety, the Alto K10 is equipped with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, an electronic stability programme, and reverse parking sensors.

It also includes three-point seatbelts for all seats, speed alerts, seatbelt reminders, and impact-sensing door unlock.

Structurally, it uses a platform designed for energy absorption in crashes.

In terms of crash tests, Global NCAP evaluated the 2023 model and awarded it 2 stars for adult occupant protection and 0 stars for child occupant protection.

Currently, no Bharat NCAP rating exists.

The Alto K10 faces close competition from the Renault Kwid and Maruti Suzuki S-Presso in its segment.

The Kwid provides a larger 279-litre boot and a longer wheelbase for slightly more rear legroom, yet the Alto K10 returns higher ARAI mileage (24.9 kmpl petrol versus Kwid’s 22.3 kmpl) and offers a CNG powertrain that the Kwid lacks.

The S-Presso competes directly with a similar engine and dimensions but adds raised ground clearance and crossover styling. Conversely, the Alto K10 answers with lighter steering effort and better fuel-efficiency numbers across both petrol and CNG options.
