Tata Nexon Leads Maruti Dzire and Swift in November 2025 Car Sales

India's car market reflected strong growth in November 2025, with compact SUVs and hatchbacks leading the charge amid rising demand for fuel-efficient and feature-packed vehicles.

Tata and Maruti Suzuki dominated the list, capturing eight of the top 10 spots. Here is a look at the top sellers, including their sales performance and key specifications.

Tata Nexon

The Tata Nexon continued to be the bestseller with 22,434 units sold in November 2025, marking a robust 46% year-on-year growth from 15,329 units. 

The Nexon offers a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 118 BHP of power and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel with 113 BHP, mated to manual, AMT, or DCT transmissions. A CNG variant is also available for better efficiency. 

It has earned a 5-star rating from both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP, featuring six airbags and electronic stability control as standard. Prices range from ₹8.00 lakh to ₹14.15 lakh ex-showroom.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire

Maruti’s most popular sedan, the Dzire, claimed second place, selling 21,082 units in November 2025, an impressive 79% jump from 11,779 units last year. It is the only sedan in this list.

Powered by Maruti’s new 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine delivering 80 bhp with manual or AMT options, it also includes a CNG variant (69 BHP) for budget-conscious buyers. 

The Dzire became Maruti’s first car to score 5 stars in both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP, with standard features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, and hill-hold. Its ex-showroom price spans ₹6.26 lakh to ₹9.31 lakh, making it a value pick for city commuters.

Maruti Suzuki Swift

The Maruti Swift held third with 19,733 units sold in November 2025, up 34% from 14,737 units in November 2024. 

It shares its powertrains with the Dzire - the same Z12 petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual or AMT, with a CNG option boosting mileage to 32.85 km/kg. 

The latest generation of the Indian-spec Swift has not been crash tested yet, but the Dzire’s strong 5-star results bode well for its hatchback sibling. 

Ex-showroom prices start at ₹5.79 lakh and go up to ₹8.80 lakh, appealing to many first-time buyers seeking a small yet premium family hatch.

Tata Punch

Tata Punch

The Tata Punch punched its way to fourth, with 18,753 units sold in November 2025, reflecting 21% growth over 15,435 units from the prior year. 

The 1.2-litre petrol engine generates 86 BHP, mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT, while a CNG version adds versatility. 

Boasting a 5-star Global NCAP rating with dual airbags and ESP, it is the safest in its segment. Prices range from ₹5.50 lakh to ₹9.30 lakh ex-showroom.

Hyundai Creta

The Hyundai Creta rounded out the top five, selling 17,344 units in November 2025 - a 12% rise from 15,452 units last November. 

It features three powertrains - a 1.5-litre petrol (113 BHP), 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (158 BHP), and 1.5-litre diesel (116 BHP), with manual, CVT, or DCT options. 

The older model holds a 3-star Global NCAP rating, but the 2025 version includes six airbags and ADAS for improved protection. The Creta is priced from ₹10.73 lakh to ₹20.20 lakh ex-showroom.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

The Maruti Ertiga secured sixth position with 16,197 units sold in November 2025, up 7% from 15,150 units in November 2024. 

Its 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 103 BHP and 137 Nm torque, paired to a 5-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic, with a CNG option for maximum efficiency. 

The Ertiga comes with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, and hill-hold as standard. Ex-showroom prices range from ₹8.80 lakh to ₹12.94 lakh, ideal for families.

Mahindra Scorpio N

Mahindra's Scorpio N climbed to seventh, selling 15,616 units in November 2025, a 23% increase from 12,704 units last year. 

The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol (200 BHP) and 2.2-litre diesel (172 BHP) engines are mated to 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions, with some variants offering 4x4 capability. 

The SUV achieved a 5-star Global NCAP rating. It comes with six airbags and ADAS in top-end variants, though entry-level variants only get dual airbags. Prices for the Scorpio N start at ₹13.20 lakh and reach ₹24.17 lakh ex-showroom.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx

Maruti Fronx

The Fronx stayed at eighth with 15,058 units in November 2025, edging up 1% from 14,882 units last year. 

Engine options include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol (90 BHP) with manual/AMT and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (100 BHP) with manual or automatic. CNG options are paired to the 1.2-litre engine for max efficiency. 

Standard safety features mirror other Marutis, with six airbags and ESP. Ex-showroom prices for the Fronx range from ₹6.85 lakh to ₹11.98 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R

The Wagon R tallied 14,619 units in November 2025, a 5% gain over 13,982 units from November 2024. 

It uses 1.0-litre (67 BHP) or 1.2-litre (82 BHP) petrol engines with manual or AMT, plus CNG options. 

Six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, Hill-hold, and ISOIX seat mounts are offered as standard. The WagonR continues to be a budget-friendly family hatchback, priced between ₹4.99 lakh and ₹8.50 lakh ex-showroom.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza

The Brezza closed out the top 10 with 13,947 units sold in November 2025, down 5% from 14,918 units the previous year. 

A 1.5-litre petrol engine (103 BHP) with mild-hybrid tech (only on AT) is mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter AT. CNG is optional. 

The first-generation Vitara Brezza with dual airbags achieved a 4-star Global NCAP. The current Brezza gets a much-improved safety suite with six airbags, ESP and hill-hold assist.

Ex-showroom prices for the Brezza range from ₹8.26 lakh to ₹13.01 lakh.
