Skoda's Slavia is the Czech brand's bread-and-butter sedan for India, built on the MQB-A0-IN platform it shares with the Volkswagen Virtus. It's powered by two turbocharged petrol engines - a 1.0-litre TSI making 115 hp and 178 Nm, and a 1.5-litre TSI producing 150 hp and 250 Nm and is the only sedan in this segment to offer a proper European driving experience.

Skoda Slavia Prices And Variants Summary

The Slavia range is available in five variants, which opens at ₹9.99 lakh (all ex-showroom) with the Classic 1.0-litre manual (MT) and immediately jumps to ₹13.28 lakh for the Signature, a ₹3.28 lakh gap that is the largest single step in the entire lineup, and one that demands some serious justification.

The Sportline 1.0 MT follows at just ₹13.49 lakh, which is only ₹21,000 more than the Signature and arguably the smarter pick for most buyers at that level. Going up, the Prestige starts at ₹14.99 lakh with the 1.0 MT, bringing the sunroof and leatherette.

The automatic variants pick up from ₹14.34 lakh for the Signature 1.0 AT through to the Monte Carlo 1.0 AT at ₹16.49 lakh.

Finally, at the top of the range, the Prestige 1.5 DSG sits at ₹17.93 lakh and the Monte Carlo 1.5 DSG closes the range at ₹17.99.

What's Common Across All Skoda Slavia Variants?

Regardless of which variant you land on, the Slavia's safety and mechanical underpinnings don't change. Every car gets 6 airbags, along with ESC, ABS, EBD, EDS, XDS+, TCS, MSR, and Multi Collision Braking.

ISOFIX with top-tether points on the rear seats is also standard across the board, as are rear parking sensors, engine immobilizer with floating code, and the anti-theft alarm.

Every Slavia also gets front McPherson struts with a twist-beam rear axle, electro-mechanical power steering, hydraulic vacuum-assisted diagonal-split brakes with disc fronts and drum rears, and a 45-litre fuel tank.

The 521-litre boot, expandable to 1,050 litres with the rear seats folded is among the most practical in the segment.

One thing worth noting upfront - no Slavia variant gets a fully digital virtual cockpit or any form of ADAS. There's no adaptive cruise control, no lane assist, no blind spot monitoring anywhere in the range. If those technologies highly matter to you, this isn't your car - full stop.

Here is what you get with each of the Slavia variants sitting comfortably under 20 lakhs:

Slavia Classic Base Model

Who Should Buy The Skoda Slavia Classic Base Model?

The Classic is a difficult variant to recommend because of what it misses rather than what it has. It is the only Slavia close to ₹10 lakh, and is only offered in MT. But the next variant costs ₹3.28 lakh more, so this isn't a situation where a small premium unlocks a slightly better car. You are looking at a highly different ownership experience above.

That said, the Classic makes sense for a specific type of buyer: someone who just wants the Slavia's chassis, good driving experience, but doesn't mind the missing modern infotainment, convenience features, or badge-driven ambition.

You are asked to accept a 7-inch wired-only display, manual AC, 15-inch steel wheels with plastic caps, and no front armrest - a meaningful daily miss. It also lacks a rear camera, cruise control, and keyless entry.

What it does get, however, are rear parktronic sensors, 6 airbags, the full stability suite, 4 speakers at 100W, a 12V socket, and a Start/Stop with recuperation. Everything else, however, is asking you to pretend it's 2015.

Signature Model

Skoda Slavia Signature Carbon Steel Front Side View

Who Should Buy The Skoda Slavia Signature Model?

The Signature is where the Slavia becomes the car Skoda intended it to be. The ₹3.28 lakh premium over the Classic is steep, but it unlocks essentially a different car: Climatronic AC, a 10-inch wireless touchscreen, alloy wheels, cruise control, KESSY, and a rearview camera all arrive simultaneously.

The real question, though is: Signature or Sportline? At ₹21,000 apart on the manual, the Sportline brings LED headlamps and a sharper aesthetic. The Signature makes the most sense if you prefer a subtler, conventional look, or if you want the smooth, well-calibrated 6-speed AT for urban driving.

The Signature does not get a sunroof, leatherette seats, wireless charging, or ventilated front seats. Those come with the Prestige. If those matter to you, the Signature is a stepping stone, not a destination.

Sportline Mid Model

Skoda Slavia Sportline Lava Blue Front Side View

Who Should Buy The Skoda Slavia Sportline Model?

The Sportline is the most interesting value proposition in the Slavia range. It brings LED headlamps with the Skoda Crystalline L-shaped DRLs, a meaningful real-world upgrade over the Signature's halogen units, especially on unlit highways at night.

Beyond the headlamps, the Sportline features glossy black exterior accents, a black roof, Ving Black alloys, and darkened LED tail lamps. The darkened split LED tail lamps are also Sportline-exclusive until the Monte Carlo, and they look sharper than the standard lamps on the Signature and Prestige.

The compromises are no sunroof, leatherette, or ventilated front seats. If "premium" to you means visual sharpness and superior lighting, choose the Sportline. If it’s leather and a sunroof, look to the Prestige.

At ₹13.49 lakh for the MT (and ₹14.55 lakh for the AT), it’s arguably the sharper buy.

Prestige Model

Skoda Slavia Prestige Candy White Front Side View

Who Should Buy The Skoda Slavia Prestige Model?

The Prestige is the comfort-focused variant, delivering what the Sportline deliberately left out. The electric panoramic sunroof arrives here, with anti-pinch technology and so do ventilated front leatherette seats with a perforated beige design, leatherette on the rear seats, and cushioned leatherette door armrests replacing the fabric ones on lower variants. The spare wheel also gets bumped up to a matching R16, which the Classic through Sportline variants don't offer.

Now for the uncomfortable bit: the Prestige, at every price point across all three transmissions, uses halogen headlamps. There is no configuration in the Slavia lineup where you get a sunroof, leatherette, and LED headlamps simultaneously - unless you go for Monte Carlo.

Get the Prestige MT at ₹14.99 lakh if you prioritize sunroof and leatherette, as it also does not have a direct rival within the lineup for that combination. Be more careful choosing the AT, which at ₹16.43 lakh just sits ₹6,000 below the Monte Carlo AT, which brings back LED headlamps alongside a sharp, blacked-out aesthetic.

Monte Carlo Top Model

Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo Candy White Front Side View

Who Should Buy The Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo Model?

Priced a mere ₹6,000 above the Prestige, the Monte Carlo is a no-brainer. For that, you gain LED headlamps (which the Prestige lacks), darkened LED tail lamps, a cohesive Glossy Black exterior treatment, and a striking red-and-black leatherette interior.

It retains every single comfort feature from the Prestige - sunroof, ventilated seats, KESSY, 10-inch screen, making the upgrades purely additive. The headlamp advantage alone makes it the undeniably superior package.

The 1.0 AT at ₹16.49 lakh is the obvious choice for most, rounding off every edge lower trims left unfinished. Meanwhile, the 1.5 DSG at ₹17.99 lakh is, without qualification, the most complete Slavia available, with its 150 hp and 250 Nm.

Unless you actively object to the sporty red-and-black cabin aesthetic, there is no rational financial argument for the Prestige. The Monte Carlo is the definitive answer.

Should I Buy The Skoda Slavia?

Consider Skoda Slavia ifDon’t consider Skoda Slavia if
You do not want to buy a dime-a-dozen SUV, and need one of the finest sedans Skoda sells in India. You live in hot climates. The DCT gearbox uses a dry-clutch setup that has been linked to overheating concerns in heavy traffic conditions.
You want to feel what a real performance sedan is like. That 1.0 TSI with the manual gearbox combination is made for enthusiasts. You hate touch-based AC controls. They might finally go away in the upcoming facelift.
Safety is your priority. It has scored a 5-star Global NCAP rating. You drive mostly in bumper-to-bumper traffic. Multiple owners have reported noticeable turbo lag, especially at low speeds in city driving.
Space is something that matters to you. The boot on the Slavia is big enough to fit a small hatchback inside. You expect segment-best AC performance. Older Slavia and other MQB-A0-IN cars have received complaints regarding weak cooling in extreme Indian summers, though Skoda has worked on updates over time.
