MG Hector Hawk Teased and Pre-Bookings Open at Rs 21,000 Ahead of 26 August Launch

JSW MG has opened pre-bookings for the Hector Hawk for Rs 21,000, ahead of its official launch on 26 August 2026. The name is now confirmed by the company. The Hector Hawk will be the third model under MG's Hector family, sitting above the Hector and Hector Plus, and it will be launched in electric form first, with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version arriving later.

What the Teaser Shows

The teaser campaign keeps the car cloaked in darkness throughout, but enough breaks through to read the design direction. Up front, twin rectangular LED headlamps carry horizontally stacked LED DRLs above and below them. The same twin-element language repeats at the rear, with the taillight close-up revealing a pixel-pattern cluster inside a sharp-edged unit that wraps around the tail.

The side-profile shot shows a long, flat roofline with a small boot spoiler, prominent roof rails, flared front fenders, black plastic cladding below the doors, pull-type door handles, and two-tone alloy wheels. Additionally, a chrome strip runs along the window line.

For India, MG has added unique C-pillar artwork and a knurled finish on the front grille, differentiating the Hector Hawk from its global counterpart.

Lastly, the top-down teaser shot shows three rows of seating in a 2+3+2 layout with a bench-style middle row and a beige cabin theme. A panoramic sunroof is also visible.

Platform and Powertrain

The Hector Hawk will be the first MG in India to ride the ADAPT platform, which stands for Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology. It has a skateboard-style layout, with the battery pack sitting flat between the axles and orange high-voltage cables running to a front-mounted motor unit.

MG has confirmed the architecture supports EV, PHEV, strong-hybrid, and range-extender powertrains in one shared structure.

The EV launches first. Its Indonesian counterpart, the Wuling Eksion, uses a single front-mounted electric motor producing 201hp and 310Nm, with a 69.2kWh LFP battery and a CLTC range claim of up to 530km. India specs are unconfirmed, but the Eksion is the clearest reference point available.

Based on that model, the Hector Hawk is expected to measure 4,745mm in length on a 2,810mm wheelbase, placing it in the same size bracket as the XUV700.

The PHEV version will follow later. The global Starlight 560 PHEV pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and a 20.5kWh battery, with an overall claimed range of around 1,100km and up to 125km on electric power alone. These are global figures and the India spec could differ.

Expected Price and Rivals

The Hector Hawk EV is expected to be priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh ex-showroom, though MG will confirm pricing at launch on 26 August. It will go up against cars like the Kia Carens Clavis EV and Mahindra XEV 9S.
