The 2026 Honda City facelift is a 5-seater sedan available in multiple variants (SV to ZX+) with petrol and strong-hybrid options, priced from around ₹12 lakh to ₹21 lakh (ex-showroom).
We've explained each of its variant. However, we have done similar guides for the Virtus and Slavia, which you may check out.
It continues with the 1.5-litre petrol engine and strong-hybrid powertrain, paired with 6-speed manual, CVT, or e-CVT gearboxes. Fuel efficiency is rated up to 17.97 kmpl for petrol and 27.26 kmpl for hybrid.
Standard safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill-start assist, rear parking sensors/camera, ISOFIX mounts, and Level 2 ADAS on higher trims

2026 Honda City SV

The SV is the most affordable entry into the Honda City, aimed at buyers prioritizing safety fundamentals and rear-seat comfort over modern luxuries.
It provides essential features like 6 airbags, LED projector headlamps, a multi-angle rear camera, automatic climate control, and VSA.
However, you must live with a manual gearbox, steel wheels, a wired-only touchscreen, and no Honda SENSING.
For most urban commuters, upgrading to the V variant makes more financial sense, adding alloy wheels, better audio, and an automatic transmission option.

2026 Honda City V

The V variant, commanding a premium over the SV, gains Honda SENSING (Level 2 ADAS), smart keyless entry, Honda Connect telematics, and wireless smartphone connectivity. The CVT option adds remote engine start.
Visually, gray R15 alloy wheels and chrome interior handles lift the cabin's appeal.
Crucially, offering Level 2 ADAS at this tier gives the City an edge, as rivals either restrict it to higher brackets or omit it entirely. This makes the V MT the sweet spot for highway drivers.
While the City CVT sits in a higher segment, budget-conscious buyers seeking self-shifting convenience can look at the affordable automatics under ₹10 lakh.

2026 Honda City ZX

The ZX variant targets buyers wanting a premium City experience, stepping up cabin luxury over the V with a sunroof, leather upholstery, ambient lighting, a rear sunshade, and larger R16 diamond-cut alloys.
Tech upgrades include an 8-speaker surround system, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, and a wireless charger. Meanwhile, rain-sensing wipers, an auto-dimming IRVM, and a LaneWatch camera add convenience.
For those obsessed with audio experience, see how it compares to cars that get Dolby Atmos.
The price jump from V to ZX MT is substantial, but these additions deliver genuine daily comfort, making the ZX CVT the most balanced petrol choice.

The ZX+ targets buyers wanting the most loaded petrol City, offering maximum luxury and CVT smoothness without stepping up to hybrid pricing.
While the MT variant is slightly cheaper than the ZX CVT, it introduces premium tech like a 360-degree camera and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster.
Additionally, this variant gains highly requested features including ventilated front seats, all-door auto power windows with a pinch guard, auto-folding mirrors, and full keyless remote control for the sunroof and windows.

2026 Honda City ZX+ e:HEV

The e:HEV offers a categorically different driving experience, utilizing a two-motor strong hybrid system producing 253 Nm of torque compared to the petrol's 145 Nm.
It exclusively adds an electric parking brake, four-wheel disc brakes, and Low Speed Follow adaptive cruise, features unavailable on petrol variants.
However, it commands a premium. It makes financial sense if your mileage is high or your state offers road-tax benefits.
Otherwise, for low-usage highway drivers stretching their budget, the ZX+ petrol CVT remains the more sensible buy.

Should I Buy The 2026 Honda City?
| Consider 2026 Honda City | Don’t consider 2026 Honda City |
|---|---|
| You are a diehard IVTEC fan and want the only sedan that rocks it | You want a proper Honda City revamp, a brand-new 6 generation will launch 2 years from now, its a long time but worth the wait |
| You want one the most spacious, comfortable and reliable sedan in the market right now | That afterthought of the touchscreen ruins the Honda interior, it could have been better implemented |
| You find those three cylinder Virtus and Slavia too crude for daily driving | That bonnet mounted tubelight DRL is too gawdy |
| The CVT does not like to be rushed, the rubber band effect is noticeable, ground clearance is lower than the Virtus and Slavia, and it requires deliberate attention over speed breakers. |
