Engine, tank, and Fuel Efficiency

Both models run the Smartstream G1.5 engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, producing 96PS and 123Nm in CNG mode. A 60 litre CNG tank sits under the boot floor alongside the existing petrol tank, giving both MPVs a dual-fuel setup.
The CNG tank reduces the available boot space to 116 litres with all three rows in use, compared with 216 litres in the regular versions.

Kia has retained the spare tyre, which is mounted underneath the vehicles.
As for claimed fuel efficiency, Kia has not announced a certified mileage figure for the CNG versions yet. However, it is expected to be in the 22-25 km per kg range.

What else changes
Both CNG variants get a 4.2-inch colour TFT display with a CNG distance-to-empty readout, a dashboard-mounted fuel changeover switch and upgraded 16-inch front disc brakes with R16 wheels.
Kia has also retuned the suspension, recalibrated the engine for CNG use and revised the third row seat back frame for a better recline angle.
Rivals
The Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG compete with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, XL6 and Toyota Rumion, all of which offer factory-fitted CNG with manual gearboxes.
None of these models currently offers an automatic gearbox with CNG.
