October 2025 saw a large wave of buyers in India’s car market, fueled by festive celebrations. Sales figures show a clear shift toward SUVs and compact cars. With over a million units sold across brands, the month highlighted how affordable options and reliable performers continue to win hearts.
Compared to September 2025, festive demand led to gains for many models, while year-over-year against October 2024, growth was solid thanks to new variants and promotions. According to sales data from October 2025 in India, the market saw a festive boost, with SUVs leading the pack.

Mahindra XUV 3XO - 12,237 units

The Mahindra XUV 3XO impresses as a compact SUV with sharp styling and advanced tech features. It offers a punchy turbo engine and a spacious cabin for young buyers. Safety tools like ADAS make it a smart choice for city and especially highway trips. Its sales rose 35.5% from September's 9,032 units and climbed 27.9% over October 2024's 9,562 units on strong demand.
Kia Sonet - 12,745 units

The Kia Sonet is popular for its sporty design and feature-loaded interior in the subcompact SUV segment. Its premium feel, quick acceleration and connected-car tech appeal to buyers. Figures jumped 41.3% month-on-month from 9,020 units, and grew 31.4% year-on-year versus 9,699 units last October.
Maruti Victoris- 13,496 units

Maruti's Victoris burst onto the scene as a sleek midsize SUV last month with its bold looks. The debut model's strong value proposition has made it a fresh contender in the hotly contested SUV arena.
Sales increased 217% from September's 4,261 units.
Maruti Eeco - 13,537 units

Maruti Eeco serves as a sturdy workhorse van, perfect for commercial use with its large cargo area. Its durability on rough roads has earned praise from fleet owners demanding practicality. It saw a 34.9% MoM rise from 10,035 units, up 16.2% from last year's 11,653 units.
Mahindra Bolero - 14,343 units

The Mahindra Bolero thrives in rural areas with its rugged build and powerful diesel engine. High seating and tough suspension handle bad roads well. Buyers value its low running costs and spacious interiors for passenger transport in challenging conditions. Volumes soared 422.0% from September's 2,747 units and gained 45.7% over October 2024's 9,849 units.
Maruti Swift - 15,542 units

The Maruti Swift wins hearts with its fun-to-drive nature and compact size for city navigation. Efficient engines and sporty looks attract young drivers. The Swift’s strong resale value and Maruti’s widespread service network add to its appeal for budget-conscious buyers. Sales held flat at 0.0% from 15,547 units last month but dropped 11.4% from 17,539 units in October 2024.
Tata Punch - 16,810 units

Tata Punch combines micro-SUV toughness with urban agility, thanks to its elevated stance. Safety stars and modern infotainment keep it fresh. Compact dimensions suit tight parking, while the bold look draws buyers looking for a compact crossover on a budget.
Its sales grew 5.8% MoM from 15,891 units and 6.8% YoY against 15,740 units.
Maruti Baleno - 16,873 units

Maruti Baleno offers a refined experience with upscale materials and a smooth ride. Spacious for its class, it suits professionals wanting comfort and efficiency without high costs.
Sales surged 28.0% from September's 13,173 units, up 4.9% from 16,082 units last October.
Maruti Fronx - 17,003 units

Maruti Fronx merges crossover vibes with the Baleno’s hatchback dimensions, featuring a strong turbo option. Its balanced dynamics and value make it ideal for young buyers exploring a stylish alternative over premium hatchbacks.
Figures rose 23.6% MoM from 13,767 units and 3.6% YoY over 16,419 units.
Mahindra Scorpio (Classic and N) - 17,880 units

The Mahindra Scorpio commands respect with its aggressive presence and off-road prowess. Its ladder-frame chassis ensures stability on trails. Ample space for seven passengers fits large families with relative ease, while the powerful engines help tackle any terrain confidently.
It dipped 2.7% from 18,372 units last month but gained 14.1% from 15,677 units in 2024.
Hyundai Creta - 18,381 units

The Hyundai Creta elevates compact SUV standards with level-2 ADAS and ventilated seats. Multiple powertrains cater to different needs, and its stylish road presence and features make it a premium pick for buyers.
Sales fell 2.5% MoM from 18,861 units but rose 5.0% YoY versus 17,497 units.
Maruti Wagon R - 18,970 units

The Wagon R provides tall-boy comfort with generous headspace and easy entry. CNG compatibility aids fuel savings, while its lightweight build and peppy motor excel in traffic, suiting small families.
It climbed 23.3% from 15,388 units in September and 36.3% from 13,922 units last year.
Maruti Ertiga - 20,087 units

Maruti Ertiga accommodates seven effortlessly in the MPV class, with its Mild-hybrid tech improving efficiency. Its seven-seat configuration and boot flexibility are ideal for families prioritising space and practicality. Volumes shot up 65.8% MoM from 12,115 units and 6.9% YoY over 18,785 units.
Maruti Dzire - 20,791 units

The new Maruti Dzire upholds sedan traditions with a good 382-litre boot space and stable high-speed cruising. Corporate users and cab services rely on its frugality and durability in a shifting market landscape. It edged up 3.7% from 20,038 units last month and soared 63.8% from 12,698 units in 2024.
Tata Nexon - 22,083 units

The Tata Nexon secures the lead with top safety scores and an EV option. Versatile across terrains, it offers good engines, a rugged build and a wide variety of features in an attractive price range. Sales slipped 2.2% MoM from 22,573 units but jumped 49.6% YoY against 14,759 units.
