2026 Mahindra Scorpio Classic Every Variant Explained

Mahindra's Scorpio Classic is available in 7- and 9-seater configurations, spanning across just two variants, S and S11 with ex-showroom prices ranging from ₹12.99 lakh to ₹16.99 lakh.

Below is a detailed breakdown of each of its trim. We have done a similar breakdown of the Bolero as well, which is worth checking out.

Powering it is a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine generating 130 PS and 300 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual and rear-wheel drive. Fuel efficiency stands at an estimated 14-15 kmpl.

Alongside a reputation for mechanical durability, key features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and an infotainment system on the higher S11 variant.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic S

The base S variant makes its strongest case with its exclusive 9-seater layout at roughly ₹13.44 lakh. With few direct rivals, it's a practical choice for rural buyers, small businesses, and people-moving duties.

However, it is decidedly barebones and best suited to buyers unconcerned by the lack of a touchscreen, alloys, or cruise control.

Trade-offs include vinyl upholstery, manual AC, no remote locking, and centre-mounted power window switches. The cabin feels basic, with limited storage and dated fit and finish.

In stark contrast to this old-school approach, buyers interested in Mahindra's more modern direction can explore its upcoming electric SUVs.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic S11

The S11 is a better-equipped upgrade aimed at personal buyers, though it drops the 9-seat option.

While the cabin remains basic, it adds fabric upholstery, automatic AC, electric ORVMs, cruise control, and steering-mounted controls. Diamond-cut alloys and painted cladding also enhance its road presence.

Go for the captain-chair 7-seater for better comfort and flexible cargo space.

However, for around ₹50,000 more, the Scorpio-N Z4 diesel is a stronger alternative, unless you strictly prefer the Classic’s old-school appeal.

What's Common Across All Mahindra Scorpio Classic Variants?

Every Scorpio Classic features the same 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine producing 132 hp and 300 Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual. The suspension, brakes, and tyres are identical across variants.

Both variants get the 22.86 cm touchscreen with phone mirroring, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, and 2nd-row AC vents.

Dual airbags, ABS, and ESC are standard. However, it has not been crash-tested by Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP and misses side airbags and several electronic safety features found on newer platforms.

Its predecessor also earned a 0-star Global NCAP rating. Check out our list of unsafe cars in India and their safer alternatives.

This may not be a dealbreaker for every buyer, but it is worth considering for families.
