Quick Read - Denza has confirmed its India entry, with the Z9 GT and D9 MPV expected first. Prices could range from around Rs 90 lakh to Rs 1.5 crore, but the launch date is yet to be announced.
BYD India has confirmed that its luxury brand Denza will enter India. A social media post from Denza India carries the logo with an arriving soon message and promises a high-performance EV experience. Exact timeline has not been announced but expect the developments to happen in the coming months.
Denza will sit above BYD's lineup, with prices expected beyond Rs 80 lakh. It began in 2010 as a Mercedes-Benz joint venture and has been fully BYD owned since 2024.
Reports point to the Z9 GT shooting brake and D9 MPV as the first two models, though the brand has not named them.

Denza Z9 GT

The Z9 GT is the one built to grab attention, since no other four-door shooting brake is on sale in India. Its three motors sends 1,156 hp to all four wheels for a claimed 2.7 second 0-100 kmph run.
Its 122.5k Wh battery delivers 600 km of WLTP range and charges at up to 1,500 kW, taking it from 10 to 97 percent in nine minutes. Rear-wheel steering also enables a crab walk mode and a full rotation on the spot.
Denza D9

The D9 is Denza's answer to luxury MPVs and takes on the MG M9 and Toyota Vellfire. The India-spec model is likely to pair a 103 kWh battery with a front motor making 313 hp and 360 Nm.
Inside, a 2+2+3 layout puts electrically adjustable captain's seats in the second row, with heating, ventilation and massage. Three-zone climate control and a Dynaudio sound system add to the comfort, and the WLTP range is 520 km.
