2026 Mahindra Bolero Every Variant Explained

Mahindra's Bolero is a no-nonsense 7-seater SUV available in four trims, from B4 to B8, priced between ₹8.00 lakh and ₹9.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

Read on for a detailed breakdown of each of its variant. Also, if you are comparing old-school, body-on-frame SUVs, our Scorpio Classic variant guide is a great next read.

Power comes from a 1.5-litre mHawk diesel engine sending 75 PS and 210 Nm of torque to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox, returning roughly 16 kmpl.

Renowned for its sheer durability, the Bolero covers essential safety and tech with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and a digital instrument cluster on higher trims.

Bolero B4

The B4 is the Bolero's no-frills variant, aimed at buyers seeking a rugged diesel 7-seater ladder-frame SUV under ₹8 lakh.

It misses power windows, a touchscreen, remote key, central locking, and its vinyl seats aren't ideal for long journeys.

However, dual airbags and reverse parking sensors are standard, which is commendable at this price.

It best suits rural users, fleet operators, village taxis, and institutional buyers where low running costs and simplicity matter most.

Buyers considering the B4 can also explore other workhorse-friendly options in our guide to fleet and commercial cars on sale in 2026.

For regular family use, though, upgrading to the B6 is usually worthwhile.

Bolero B6

The B6 is the sweet spot for most personal buyers. For roughly ₹95,000 over the B4, it adds power windows, central locking, a 17.8 cm touchscreen with steering controls, a remote key, a 12V socket, and a USB-C port.

Static bending headlamps are a valuable safety addition for poorly lit highways and rural roads.

Fabric seats also improve long-distance comfort over the B4's vinyl upholstery.

It still misses fog lamps and a rear wiper, but for daily use on mixed roads, the B6 feels like the sensible minimum.

Skip it only if you're on a tight budget or buying purely for commercial use.

Bolero B6 OPT

The B6 OPT addresses the two gaps left by the B6. It adds front fog lamps for unlit roads and a rear washer and wiper, useful because the upright tailgate attracts mud and dust quickly.

It also gets a Driver Information System with trip data, average fuel economy, distance-to-empty, and a gear indicator.

However, unlike the upper B8, it sticks with steel wheels and fabric seats.

Get the B6 OPT if you drive on bad roads, at night, or in rain/dust, as you'll notice these additions regularly. Or stick with the B6 if your usage is tarmac-focused and you want to save money.

Bolero B8

The B8, at a ₹55,000 premium over the B6 OPT, improves cabin feel and road presence with leatherette upholstery and diamond-cut alloy wheels. It adds no driver aids, connectivity features, or a sunroof.

Leatherette is practical for a hard-used vehicle, though it gets hotter than fabric in Indian summers. The alloys look more premium but cost more to repair.

Choose it if you want your Bolero to feel more upmarket without prioritising features like a sunroof or modern infotainment.

Skip it if you're buying purely for toughness and low running costs, where the B6 OPT remains the sweeter spot.
