The MG Hector Tomahawk EV Excite is the only electric three-row SUV under ₹20 lakh. It runs a 69.2 kWh battery with a claimed 517 km on the MIDC cycle.

The single motor makes 150 kW and 310 Nm, taking it to 100 km/h in a claimed 8.2 seconds. DC charging peaks at 90 kW, covering 30 to 80 percent in about 35 minutes.

Third row space is the compromise. Boot volume drops to 192 litres with all three rows in use, rising to 528 litres with the third row folded.

Six airbags, ESP and a 360-degree camera are standard. Level 2 ADAS is reserved for the top Essence variant, so the Excite does without it.

The Mahindra Scorpio N Z8 Diesel 2WD is ideal for buyers seeking a well-equipped mid-to-high variant with strong performance and family-friendly practicality.

It is powered by the higher-tuned 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine producing around 175 bhp and 370 Nm (manual) or 400 Nm (automatic), paired with a 6-speed transmission and rear-wheel drive.

Access into the third row is easy via a one-touch tumble second row, with firm but supportive seats best suited for kids, folding flat for around 460 litres of utility space.

Safety features include six airbags, ABS, ESP, hill-hold, and disc brakes across all wheels.

Hyundai Alcazar Executive 1.5 Diesel 7STR

The Hyundai Alcazar Executive 1.5 Diesel 7-seater opts for diesel torque in a polished package. 

Its 1.5-litre U2 CRDi engine produces 114 bhp and 250 Nm, mated to a six-speed manual for 20 kmpl fuel efficiency and quiet cruising. 

Third-row benches include recline and cup holders, providing decent space for adults on city drives, with 50:50 split-folding for 180 litres of cargo flexibility. 

Safety mirrors the petrol with six airbags, vehicle stability management, and all-wheel disc brakes.

Added safety features include a 360-degree camera and blind-spot monitoring over the standard 6 airbags.
