Driving the Kodiaq, we find the acceleration responsive and highway cruising effortless. The DSG gearbox shifts are crisp. You can tailor the driving characteristics using modes like Eco, Normal, Sport, and Individual, which adjust the engine and transmission responses. Skoda claims a mileage of 14.86 kmpl for this configuration.

Stepping inside the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq, we're greeted by a sense of space and quality. The cabin is clearly designed with seven passengers in mind, arranged across three rows. The materials used feel premium; in the higher variants, we experience supple leather upholstery. 

The dashboard layout is intuitive, placing the large touchscreen prominently in the center. For comfort, features like power-adjustable front seats are available, with top trims offering heating and ventilation – a detail we certainly appreciate. If you opt for it, the panoramic sunroof dramatically enhances the cabin's airy feel. 

While the first two rows provide ample room, we find the third row is best suited for children or adults on shorter trips. Practicality is good, with multi-zone automatic climate control and rear vents. Boot space is 281 litres with all rows in use, expanding considerably when you fold seats down.

Infotainment

The infotainment system is a central highlight of the 2025 Kodiaq's interior. It features a prominent touchscreen that dominates the center stack, measuring a large 12.9 inches in the higher trims, with a 10.25-inch screen in other versions.

This system is user-friendly and provides wireless connectivity for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – a feature we find very convenient. It controls audio, navigation, and various vehicle settings. Music playback is handled by a capable audio system; top variants boast an impressive 13-speaker Canton setup that delivers excellent sound quality.

The driver also gets a clear view of essential information via the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, or Virtual Cockpit, which we found easy to customize.

From the outside, the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq immediately strikes us with its blend of elegance and substantial presence. The front fascia features that distinctive Skoda grille we recognize, framed by sharp LED headlamps that seamlessly integrate the LED daytime running lights. Looking along the side, we notice a strong character line that emphasizes its length and robust build quality. At the rear, the C-shaped LED taillights, often linked by a light strip, provide a modern and easily identifiable signature. 

The Kodiaq sits on stylish 18-inch alloy wheels, depending on the version you choose. Overall, we find its styling refined and purposeful, a true large SUV aesthetic. The dimensions are quite significant: it measures 4758 mm long, 1864 mm wide, and 1679 mm tall, with a substantial 2791 mm wheelbase.

Safety is clearly a priority in the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq. Depending on the specific trim, you get up to nine airbags, providing extensive coverage including front, side, curtain, and a driver's knee airbag. Core electronic safety systems like ABS with EBD and Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Traction Control (TCS) are standard. Hill Hold Control (HAC) is included to prevent rollback on inclines. 

Parking is made easier with front and rear sensors and a rearview camera; higher trims add a helpful 360-degree camera system and automated park assist. It's worth noting that while the Kodiaq offers excellent passive safety and stability systems, the 2025 model available here does not currently include a full suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).

In the premium seven-seater SUV space here, the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq faces key rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner and the MG Gloster. It also competes to some extent with the Volkswagen Tiguan (though a 5-seater) and models like the Jeep Meridian. 

We see the Kodiaq differentiating itself with its more car-like driving dynamics, distinctly European styling, highly refined petrol engine, and a cabin that feels particularly luxurious and tech-loaded. While the Fortuner and Gloster offer diesel options and stronger off-road focus in some variants, the Kodiaq appeals to buyers who prioritize on-road sophistication, ride comfort, and an extensive feature set in a large family vehicle.

Overall, we feel the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq is a compelling choice if you're in the market for a premium seven-seater SUV. It successfully delivers on its promise of space, comfort, sophisticated features, and enjoyable performance from its petrol AWD powertrain. It's a strong option for families who value a refined motoring experience. However, the fact that it's petrol-only and currently lacks a full ADAS suite are points you should consider against some competitors.
