The Skoda Peaq is a new, all-electric full-size SUV. As the brand’s largest model, it comfortably accommodates either five or seven passengers.

On the outside, the vehicle features slim T-shaped LED lights and flush door handles, sitting on wheels ranging from 19 to 21 inches.

Inside the cabin, a 13.6-inch vertical touchscreen serves as the main interface. The five-seat layout also provides a spacious 935-litre boot for luggage.

For passenger safety, the standard equipment includes ten airbags, alongside active driver assistance features such as predictive cruise control and crossroad assist.

It is offered in ten different exterior paint options, while the interior offers four distinct design themes to choose from.

Skoda is currently evaluating this electric vehicle for the Indian market, where it would likely arrive as a fully built imported unit.

Battery and Motor

Built on the MEB+ platform, the Peaq offers three distinct powertrains driven by a rear-mounted primary motor.

The entry-level RWD Peaq 60 pairs a 63 kWh battery with a 150 kW motor, delivering 350 Nm of torque and an 8.4-second 0-100 km/h sprint.

For maximum range and performance, the RWD Peaq 90 and all-wheel-drive 90x share a massive 91 kWh battery, Skoda’s largest yet. It generates 210 kW and a muscular 545 Nm of torque, hitting 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds.

The flagship 90x adds a front motor to push combined output to 220 kW, dropping the sprint to just 6.7 seconds.

Across the lineup, drivers enjoy seamless one-pedal driving and standard V2L bidirectional charging.

Range and Charging

The Peaq 90 features a 91 kWh battery that delivers a claimed 647 km WLTP range, the longest of any Skoda EV to date.

The all-wheel-drive Peaq 90x offers 613 km, while the entry-level 63 kWh Peaq 60 provides a highly capable 459 km.

Charging wise, DC fast charging supported across the board. The 90 and 90x support up to 199 kW, rapidly charging from 10 to 80 percent in claimed 28 minutes. The 60 achieves the same top-up in 27 minutes at 160 kW.

Meanwhile, for overnight home charging, a standard 11 kW AC connection fully replenishes the 60 in roughly 6.5 hours, and the larger batteries in 9 hours.

Also, to maximize real-world winter range, an optional heat pump is available.

interior

The Peaq's cabin offers a five-door layout with seating for five or an optional seven. Built on a long 2,965 mm wheelbase, passenger room is generous across all rows.

Inside up front, a 13.6-inch vertical Android touchscreen handles most functions and is paired with physical toggle switches for temperature and fan speed to keep daily operation straightforward.

An optional 2.1-square-meter panoramic glass roof can be electronically dimmed using the central touchscreen.

Notably, while a heated steering wheel and ambient lighting are standard, optional upgrades include ventilated massaging front seats, dual cooled wireless phone chargers, and app-controlled cabin features.

Additionally, there are five interior themes available, using either fabric or a leather alternative called Techtona.

Lastly, the five-seat version holds 935 litres of boot space, while the seven-seater leaves 299 litres with all three rows in use. A 37-litre frunk provides dedicated storage for charging cables.

exterior

The Peaq at the front features a solid black grille panel paired with slim, T-shaped LED headlights, a design mirrored by the taillights.

Optionally offered, the Matrix LED headlights automatically adjust their beams to avoid blinding oncoming traffic.

Along the sides, the body features flush door handles that extend electrically as you approach with the key and can also be operated manually.

Lastly, the windshield washer jets are integrated directly into the wiper blades, which improves cleaning and halves fluid consumption.

safety

The Peaq has not yet been crash-tested by the Global NCAP or Bharat NCAP. However, it features 10 airbags and a broad range of standard driver assistance systems.

Key features include automatic emergency braking that detects pedestrians and cyclists, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alerts, and adaptive cruise control.

Additionally, a built-in camera actively monitors the driver’s eyes to detect signs of fatigue or distraction.

It also offers optional safety and convenience technology. These upgrades include an AR head-up display, a 360-degree parking camera, and an automated parking system that can memorize specific parking routines.

A more advanced assist system is also available to help manage stop-and-go traffic.

competition

The Peaq competes closely with the Kia EV9, and the Volvo EX90, expected to arrive by late 2026.

The EV9 features a larger body, faster charging times, and rotating second-row seats. In comparison, the Peaq offers a much larger trunk capacity and a longer claimed driving range. It also provides more entry-level flexibility, offering three different powertrain options, including a rear-wheel-drive version, compared to the Kia's single, high-performance all-wheel-drive variant.

The EX90, expected later this year, is a safety-focused rival with standard LiDAR and a Google-based infotainment system. While the Volvo offers more power and a premium audio system, the Peaq adds optional three-row seating, bidirectional charging, a larger cargo area, and a choice of multiple powertrains.
