Maruti Suzuki Hikes Car Prices by Up to ₹30,000 in August With Baleno, e Vitara and Jimny Getting Costlier

Maruti Suzuki has revised prices across its passenger car range in August 2026, with increases of up to ₹30,000 depending on the model and variant. Both Arena and Nexa showrooms are affected, covering everything from the Alto K10 to the e Vitara.
This is the company's second price revision in a matter of months. It had already raised prices in June 2026. On 21 July 2026, Maruti formally announced that a further hike of up to ₹30,000 would apply from August, citing sustained pressure on input costs.
How Much Has Each Model Gone Up
The increases are not uniform. Maruti has applied much steeper hikes to Nexa and premium products while keeping entry-level models relatively protected. Here is the full picture.
| Maximum Price Increase | Affected Models |
|---|---|
| Up to ₹30,000 | Baleno |
| Up to ₹20,000 | e Vitara |
| Up to ₹15,000 | Jimny |
| Up to ₹10,000 | Victoris, Invicto |
| Up to ₹7,500 | Fronx, XL6, Ertiga |
| Up to ₹7,000 | Dzire, Tour S |
| Up to ₹5,000 | Swift, Brezza, Grand Vitara, Eeco |
| Up to ₹2,500 | Alto K10, S-Presso, Celerio, WagonR |
Actual increase per variant may be lower than the maximum listed.

Baleno, e Vitara and Jimny See the Sharpest Increases
The Baleno takes the biggest hit, with an increase of up to ₹30,000 on select variants. That is a meaningful jump for a mass-market premium hatchback. Maruti is widely expected to bring an updated Baleno to market in the near future, so buyers considering the current model now face a higher entry price before that refresh arrives.
The e Vitara follows with an increase of up to ₹20,000, confirming that electric vehicles are not exempt from the same input cost pressures. The Jimny is up by up to ₹15,000, a notable revision for a niche lifestyle SUV where pricing already plays an important role in buyer decisions. Maruti has historically supported the Jimny with retail schemes, so actual transaction prices can still differ from the revised ex-showroom figures.
Mid-Range Models See Moderate Hikes
The Victoris and Invicto both go up by up to ₹10,000. The Victoris now starts at ₹10.49 lakh ex-showroom after the revision, though it continues to carry retail benefits and exchange offers during August. This is a fairly typical Maruti move to manage per-variant demand without pulling back publicly on list prices.
The Fronx, XL6 and Ertiga each see increases of up to ₹7,500, while the Dzire and Tour S go up by up to ₹7,000. The Swift, Brezza, Grand Vitara and Eeco are up by as much as ₹5,000 each. Keeping the hike at ₹5,000 on volume sellers like the Swift and Brezza appears to be a deliberate call to limit friction in more price-sensitive segments.

Entry-Level Cars Get Only ₹2,500
The Alto K10, S-Presso, Celerio and WagonR see the smallest revision in the entire portfolio, at up to ₹2,500 each. Maruti has consistently spoken about the importance of small car accessibility in India, and this revision makes that intent visible in numbers.
What to Keep in Mind
Two price hikes within about two months are a clear signal that input cost pressure has not eased for Maruti Suzuki. The approach here, with heavier increases on premium and Nexa products and lighter ones at the entry level, looks like a deliberate way to manage that burden without disturbing demand where it matters most to volumes.
For buyers, ex-showroom list prices are not always the final word. Dealer discounts, exchange bonuses and variant-level offers during August can soften the actual increase considerably, particularly across the Nexa range. With the festive season approaching, it will also be worth watching whether Maruti holds pricing steady through that window or revises again before October.
