Our electric origin SUVs, BE 6e and XEV 9e are about Unlimit Love that will inspire our customers to live a life without limits, filled with experiences that will make them feel alive.- Veejay Nakra, President - Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd
Compared to Curvv the XEV 9e is way more sure and unapologetically hefty with its tank-like design. The massive front end isn’t doing it any favors aerodynamically but looks imposing with a piano black front and and full LED bar rear, regardless. The road presence is what Indian consumer craves and gets with the XEV 9e.
The XEV 9e also gets flushed door handles and 19-inch wheels with 20-inch rollers optional. The standard wheels will come with massive 245/55 R19 tires, while the 20-inch wheels have. 245/50 R20.

Thankfully, no drum brakes in sight here as all four corners will get disc brakes along with brake-by-wire capability. Mahindra claims a 40m 100-0 time, impressive!
Despite its hefty dimensions (4,790mm in length, 1,905mm in width, and 1,690mm in height) it has a tight turn radius of 10m due to the reworked steering ratio. A semi-active suspension is also provided, although its real-world advantages are still untested.
Unmatched Power and Performance
The Mahindra XEV 9e is the larger coupe-SUV launched today, the smaller one being the BE 6e.
It is based on the exclusive INGLO platform, which comes integrated with next-level stuff like a semi-active suspension system, high-power steering, brake-by-wire technology, and a low-mounted battery pack for neutral handling.
The XEV 9e is powered by an advanced 79 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery pack sourced from BYD called Blade Battery. It offers a certified range of up to 656 km (MIDC P1 + P2), and did 500 km in Mahindra’s own testing, the number is way higher than Mahindra’s current Mahindra’s EV offering, XUV 400s, 300 km real-world range (39.4kWh).
For reference, its archrival Tata Curvv has a 55 kWh battery pack that did almost 360 km in independent tests and has a 100 kmph time of around 10 seconds, the XEV 9e beats them both by some margin, although we will be able to tell more accurately after our real-world testing.

In addition, the XEV 9e comes with something that every Indian EV owner would applaud, a lifetime battery warranty for both the 79 kWh and 59 kWh battery options, for first-registered owners only. For second owners and so forth the warranty is limited to 10 years.
The XEV 9e has super efficient packing with a 3-in-1 integrated powertrain with motor, and inverter packaged together. It has multidrive modes for either eeking out range or for maximum power.
It delivers an impressive 286hp and 380Nm and rockets 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds. While the smaller packs have 231 hp output.
Charging the XEV 9e is easy and fast. Using a 175 kW fast charger, the vehicle can charge from 20% to 80% in under 20 minutes, offering unparalleled convenience during long trips. Additionally, the vehicle offers two charging options: 7.3 kWh and 11.2 kWh, both available for purchase separately.
Interior & Infotainment

Inside the XEV 9e, the interior is as you would expect touchscreen galore song with super premium-looking materials, full details are yet to be unveiled. A huge panoramic roof is provided with multi-color ambient light all around. A unique PAWPAL feature is also here that controls the cabin temps if you plan on leaving your furry friends behind.
LiveYourMood is a feature that allows drivers to choose from pre-set themes like Calm, Cozy, and Club, each of which adjusts ambient lighting, climate control, and even the driver’s seat for a personalized experience. Signature sonic tunes curated by AR Rahman are also included for a truly unique in-car atmosphere.

More RAM Than Your iPhone!

The Mahindra XEV 9e is built on a next-generation Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) architecture, with its core powered by MAIA (Mahindra Artificial Intelligence Architecture)
Th interior has three massive 12.3-inch units with AdrenoX. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset, which is the fastest automotive-grade processor available today. This powerful processor allows the XEV 9e to offer 220 k DMIPS and 51 TOPS and has 24 GB of RAM and 128 GB onboard storage with 69 apps as standard.
The XEV 9e is a smartphone on wheels with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 5G. Allowing for real-time updates and a host of connected services that keep the vehicle in constant communication with the cloud, enabling a range of over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Mahindra has left no stone unturned and has given the XEV 9e bells and whistles usually reserved for high-end European offerings. It has a 1400-watt 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos and rear entertainment screens, although I reckon they are reserved for top trims.
Level 2 ADAS and Secure360

The Mahindra XEV 9e comes with 7 airbags and is equipped with ADAS Level 2+, which includes advanced safety features such as 5 radars and a vision camera, allowing the vehicle to detect pedestrians, animals, barricades, and various vehicle types, enhancing the safety of everyone on the road. Integrating the Mobileye EyeQ6 chip further optimizes these safety features by enabling more precise and efficient detection and decision-making.
For even greater peace of mind, the XEV 9e features EyeDentity, a Driver and Occupant Monitoring System (DOMS) that tracks driver fatigue, ensuring safer and more alert driving. The system also functions as a selfie camera for capturing moments or video calls, adding an element of fun to the driving experience.
Secure360 is another advanced safety feature that offers 360-degree surveillance, recording both the vehicle’s surroundings and its interior. This footage is stored in the vehicle and can be accessed via a mobile app, giving owners real-time insights into their vehicle's environment. Additionally, the Autopark feature, powered by 12 ultrasonic sensors, makes parking easier by providing perpendicular, angular, and parallel parking capabilities.
