Quick Read - Tata has expanded its BaaS scheme to the Nexon EV, Curvv EV, Sierra EV and Harrier EV, with BaaS prices starting at Rs 4.69 lakh and battery usage costs ranging from Rs 2.6 to Rs 5.9 per km.
Tata Motors has extended its Battery-as-a-Service scheme to the rest of its EV line-up. The Nexon EV, Curvv EV, Sierra EV and Harrier EV now get BaaS, which was so far limited to the Tiago EV and Punch EV.
Buyers can still purchase the EV outright with the battery included, or pick BaaS to bring down the upfront cost.

The prices below are for the entry trims of each model, and the battery financing cost is quoted per km for the assumed usage.

Things To Note
The BaaS prices assume a usage of 60 km a day, with 44 km a day in case for the Tiago EV, and exclude charging cost. Road tax, insurance, TCS and other government levies are also excluded.
The upfront saving is sizeable, ranging from Rs 2.30 lakh on the Tiago EV to Rs 7.30 lakh on the Harrier EV. But the battery cost does not vanish.
It simply shifts into a per-km cost for the battery, so buyers should weigh it against how much they actually drive before picking BaaS.

How BaaS Works
Under BaaS, the battery cost is separated from the vehicle price and financed on its own. The car and the battery therefore run on two separate loan accounts, each with flexible tenures.
The battery EMI depends on battery size, down payment and tenure. It does not cover charging, maintenance, repairs or other ownership costs. Tata has tied up with multiple financiers for the scheme.
