Since its launch in late 2021, the Tata Punch has been a popular choice among Indian buyers with its bold looks, compact size, and surprising versatility. This micro-SUV quickly climbed the sales charts, becoming one of the top-selling cars in the country.

Its upright stance helps easy city manoeuvrability, while its high ground clearance and tough suspension setup make it capable over rough roads. These factors, combined with its attractive pricing and value-for-money proposition, have appealed to both urban and rural buyers. \

Since its launch, it has sold hundreds of thousands of units, proving that Tata Motors nailed the formula for an affordable, fun-to-drive micro-SUV.

Over four years have passed since its launch, and competition has evolved, with new entrants and existing models getting refreshed. The Punch is now due for a mid-life facelift to keep it updated, not just against the competition, but also Tata’s lineup, which has seen many improvements since 2021.

Fortunately, Tata has been working on this. Test mules of the facelifted Punch have been spotted multiple times throughout 2025, hinting at a facelift.

Tata Punch Facelift Design Changes

From what the spy shots suggest, the exterior might draw closer inspiration from the Punch EV, giving it a more modern vibe without losing its tough character.

Up front, we could see a redesigned bumper and grille, paired with sleeker, possibly connected LED daytime running lights, inspired by other new Tata cars. The headlights look set to echo the EV's layout, adding sharper lines to the face.

Expect similar design tweaks to the rear bumper and possibly updated LED tail lamps for a fresh look. New alloy wheels should round out the changes, along with new colour options including dual-tone schemes.

The updated Punch’s cabin could see a few major changes. A revamped dashboard layout could make the interior feel new, complete with a new two-spoke steering wheel featuring an illuminated Tata logo.

Upholstery options may shift to newer designs and colour combinations for an airier or sportier atmosphere.

The Tata Punch facelift could step up the features and tech game significantly. Expect a twin-screen setup - a 10.25-inch digital driver's display for key information at a glance, along with a matching infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless connectivity.

Enhanced connected car tech might include voice commands for the sunroof, wireless charging, and better app integration. Top variants could even add ventilated seats and a cooled glovebox for hot Indian summers.

Which Engines Will the New Tata Punch Get?

Tata Punch Revotron Petrol Engine

Under the hood, the Punch facelift is expected to continue with the current model’s 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing around 86 BHP and 115 Nm of torque, along with a CNG version tuned for nearly 72 BHP and 103 Nm.

Update- Tata has officially confirmed that the upcoming Punch facelift will get a Turbo Petrol engine. Specs are unknown but expect around 100-110 hp and 125-130 nm of torque. It will likely be a detuned version of one used in Altroz.

Both are expected to be paired to a five-speed manual gearbox or an AMT, keeping efficiency and drivability intact.

Improved Safety Tech

Tata Punch EV 6 Airbags

Safety could see a potentially huge leap, with six airbags expected to become standard across the range, joined by ABS with EBD, ESP, and hill hold assist for a stress-free driving experience at all times.

A 360-degree camera and blind-spot monitoring could also join the mix, helping in chaotic city drives and crowded areas.
