2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift Every Variant Explained

Maruti Suzuki has launched the Baleno facelift in variants ranging from Sigma to Alpha (O), with introductory prices starting at ₹6.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Maruti is still rolling out the full variant-wise pricing. It continues to go up against the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz and Toyota Glanza.

The biggest change is under the bonnet, with the new 1.2-litre Z12E three-cylinder petrol engine producing 83 PS and 112 Nm. It can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT, while a factory-fitted CNG option is also available. Claimed fuel efficiency is 23.80 kmpl for the petrol MT, 24.77 kmpl for the petrol AMT and 33.61 km/kg for the CNG.

Safety has also taken a step up, with six airbags now standard across the range. Higher variants add Level 2 ADAS, a segment-first for the Baleno's class, along with ventilated front seats, a larger touchscreen and several other convenience features.

Baleno Sigma MT

The Sigma skips an infotainment system entirely, which means no Android Auto, no Apple CarPlay, and no speakers at all. You get tilt-only steering without telescopic adjustment, manual climate control, no rear AC vents, and steel wheels with 185/65 R15 tyres.

It does come with ESP, six airbags, and a gear shift indicator, which keeps safety intact. But with no security alarm, no TPMS, and only a segment-display MID, daily use will feel noticeably stripped.

The Sigma is relevant only if budget is the absolute constraint or for buyers who genuinely do not care for technology.

Baleno Delta MT / AMT / CNG MT

The Delta steps up from Sigma in a major way, now featuring wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four speakers, rear AC vents, rear USB-A and USB-C fast charging, a front centre armrest, rear parcel shelf, body-coloured ORVMs with turn indicators, and electrically foldable ORVMs. TPMS and a security alarm also join here.

The Delta is also the first variant to offer both CNG and AMT, though not together. On petrol, AMT is available, while on CNG, it is manual only.

The smaller 17.78 cm screen and absent wireless charging, auto climate, and rearview camera make it a clear stepping stone rather than a complete package.

Baleno Zeta MT / AMT / CNG MT

The Zeta is the sweet spot for most buyers who want a complete daily car. It replaces the 17.78 cm Delta screen with a much larger 22.86 cm SmartPlay Pro+ unit. Auto climate control, push-button start, a rearview camera, wireless charging with active cooling, driver seat height adjustment, tilt and telescopic steering, front footwell lamps, rear wiper with washer, and chrome door handles all arrive here together. Suzuki Connect also unlocks at this trim.

On audio, two tweeters and the ARKAMYS Surround Sense tuning make a real difference over Delta's basic four-speaker setup. LED headlamps, DRLs, and painted 16-inch alloys round off a meaningful exterior upgrade.

Baleno Alpha MT / AMT

The Alpha adds leatherette upholstery, ventilated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 360-degree camera, auto-dimming IRVM, auto-folding ORVMs, a head-up display, LED fog lamps, UV-cut glass, precision-cut dual-tone alloy wheels, a co-driver vanity lamp, and standard cruise control. The Clarion premium sound system also replaces the ARKAMYS Surround Sense setup from the Zeta.

Ventilated seats in this segment are genuinely useful in Indian summers, and no other hatchback here currently offers them. The 360-degree camera is also a meaningful daily addition for tight urban parking.

If you want the best-equipped non-ADAS Baleno, the Alpha is it. The cruise control here is standard fixed-speed, not adaptive.

Baleno Alpha (O) MT / AMT

The Alpha(O) is the only reason to talk about Level 2 ADAS in this segment. On top of everything the Alpha offers, it brings Adaptive Cruise Control with curve speed reduction, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning and Prevention, and Advanced Emergency Braking, among others.

No other hatchback in India currently offers this. For anyone who clock highway mileage regularly, the ADAS package changes the calculus entirely. The painted front fascia on the NEXWave grille also visually distinguishes it from Alpha. If you drive mostly in the city, the standard Alpha covers nearly everything else at a lower outlay.

What's Common Across All Maruti Suzuki Baleno Variants?

No matter which variant you pick, every Baleno facelift buyer gets six airbags as standard, along with ABS with EBD, ESP with hill hold, brake assist, and emergency stop signal. That is a meaningful baseline for a car at this price point, and rivals like the Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20 do not match it across all trims.

The new 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z12E engine, producing 83 PS and 112.4 Nm, is uniform throughout the range. All variants also get keyless entry with central locking, all four power windows, a driver-side auto up/down window, rear defogger, 60:40 split rear seats, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.

The signature NEXWave grille, fender chrome garnish, body-coloured bumpers, shark-fin antenna, and NEXA LED tail lamps are present on every trim too.
