Honda QC3 Launched At Rs 1.35 Lakh With 145km Range, 5-inch TFT

Honda has put the QC3 on sale in India as its latest family-focused electric scooter. Priced at Rs 1.35 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, it sits above the QC1 in Honda's electric scooter range and brings a larger battery, more storage and a more feature-heavy cabin.

Bookings are open through Honda RedWing dealerships for Rs 5,000.

The QC3 Is Built Around Practicality

The QC3 takes a fairly restrained approach to styling. Its most prominent feature is the LED headlight mounted on the front apron, joined by a narrow DRL that runs across the upper section.

Honda offers the scooter in four triple-tone finishes called Matt Photon Gray Metallic, Pearl Precious White, Pearl Shallow Blue and Pearl Siren Blue.

More importantly, Honda has concentrated on everyday usability. The QC3 has 32 litres of underseat storage, giving it considerably more carrying space than the smaller QC1. The scooter also gets a Smart Key and a front USB charging port.

145km Range From A 3kWh Battery

The QC3 uses a fixed 3kWh battery pack and Honda claims an IDC range of 145km. Charging from 0 to 80 percent takes 2 hours 40 minutes.

Honda has not disclosed the motor's power and torque figures or detailed performance figures as part of the launch information, so there is currently no need to read too much into the range figure alone.

TFT Display Gets More Than Just The Basics

A 5-inch TFT instrument display gives the QC3 a more connected setup than the basic commuter EVs in this price bracket. It supports Honda RoadSync connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and alerts for incoming calls and SMS.

The display also handles music controls, while the scooter's Smart Key adds keyless operation.

What Makes The QC3 Different From The QC1

The QC3 is not just a larger version of Honda's entry-level EV. Its 3kWh battery is designed to give it 145km of claimed IDC range, while the scooter also adds a larger 32-litre storage compartment and connected TFT instrumentation. The QC1 uses a smaller 1.5kWh battery and has an 80km IDC range.

That makes the QC3's positioning fairly clear. Honda is using the new scooter to move beyond the basic urban EV formula and give its electric range a model aimed more squarely at family use.
