Battery as a Service schemes lower the upfront cost of electric scooters and bikes by letting buyers pay only for the chassis while subscribing to the battery through usage-based plans or monthly fees.
This makes electric mobility more affordable without compromising on range or performance.

Hero VIDA VX2 Scooters

The VIDA VX2 series offers BAAS where customers buy the chassis at a reduced price starting from around Rs 44,990 for the Go variant and pay a usage fee of Rs 0.90 to Rs 1.24 per kilometre, depending on the battery pack chosen.
The 2.2 kWh or 3.4 kWh removable batteries deliver an IDC range of 92 to 142 kilometres with a 6 kW motor and a top speed of 70 to 80 km per hour.
Fast charging reaches 80 per cent in about 62 minutes.
Its best features include easily removable batteries for home charging, a 4.3-inch TFT display, smart app connectivity and extended warranties.

Ather Rizta

Ather provides BAAS for the Rizta starting at Rs 75,999 ex-showroom for the chassis with battery rental at around Rs 1 per kilometre on a 48-month plan and minimum monthly usage.
The 2.9 kWh or 3.7 kWh batteries give an IDC range of 123 to 159 kilometres and a 4.3 kW motor with a top speed of 80 km per hour.
Home charging takes up to 6 hours 30 minutes for 80 per cent.
Standout features are the large storage space, 7-inch touchscreen with navigation, family-friendly seating and reliable build that make it ideal for city families.
Ather 450 Series

The 450 series scooters come under BAAS from Rs 84,341 ex-showroom, excluding battery cost with subscription at about Rs 1 per kilometre.
Battery packs of 2.9 kWh or 3.7 kWh offer 122 to 161 kilometres IDC range, powered by a 6.4 kW motor that reaches 90 km per hour.
Charging time is similar to the Rizta.
Key highlights include quick acceleration, multiple riding modes, traction control and a premium digital display that appeal to riders seeking sporty performance in daily use.
Honda Activa e

Honda’s Activa e uses a BAAS swap model with a monthly subscription starting at Rs 678 for the Lite plan, covering adequate energy for typical use.
The scooter itself starts from around Rs 1.17 lakh. its dual 1.5 kWh swappable batteries provide 102 kilometres IDC range with a 6 kW motor and a 80 km per hour top speed.
Users can swap batteries at stations in minutes instead of home charging.
It carries the trusted Activa design elements, effortless battery swapping, three riding modes and proven reliability that ease the switch to electric for existing owners.

Ultraviolette X-47

The X-47 crossover bike offers BAAS, with Rs 1.49 lakh for the bike, and a battery subscription from Rs 2,499 per month over five years.
The 7.1 kWh or 10.3 kWh battery delivers up to 323 kilometres IDC range with a powerful motor producing around 40 hp and top speed of 145 km per hour.
It gets fast charging options as well.
The X-47 offers strong torque for quick overtakes, an adventure-ready design, long touring range, and premium touches like a dashboard camera.
Ultraviolette F77

The F77 performance bike follows a similar BaaS scheme, with the bike available from Rs 1.99 lakh and battery subscription of around Rs 2,678 monthly.
It shares the 7.1 kWh or 10.3 kWh packs for ranges up to 323 kilometres and motor output up to 30 kW with a top speed of 155 km per hour.
Charging to 80 per cent takes about 3 hours.
The F77 stands out with its sporty styling, aviation-derived drivetrain, high acceleration and track-ready performance that deliver thrilling rides at accessible ownership costs.
