EICMA 2026: Major Scooters Unveiled

EICMA (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori), the world’s largest motorcycle show is underway in Milan, Italy, for its 2026 edition. Manufacturers use this event to launch new models, concepts and 2027 range updates that often reach global markets, including India, in the following months.

Here is a list of all the major scooters that have been unveiled at the event.

Honda ADV125

Honda has expanded its adventure scooter family downward with the ADV125.

It uses a 125cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder eSP+ engine producing around 12.3 bhp and 11.7 Nm. Claimed efficiency is 47.6 km/l (WMTC), giving roughly 385 km range from the 8.1-litre tank, with a top speed of 97 km/h.

Key features include 165 mm ground clearance, long-travel suspension, block-pattern tyres, 780 mm seat height, five-step adjustable windscreen, 5-inch colour TFT with Honda RoadSync connectivity, smart key, USB-C socket, 29-litre underseat storage plus a small front compartment, and selectable traction control. Four colours are offered.

It targets A1 licence holders and urban explorers seeking adventure styling with everyday practicality.

Yamaha RW350

Yamaha has entered the adventure scooter segment with the RW350.

It is powered by a new 327cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine making 28.5 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 31.5 Nm at 5,750 rpm. Claimed fuel efficiency is about 28.6 kmpl.

The scooter features a diamond-shaped high-tensile steel frame, 37 mm forks, twin rear shocks with preload adjustment, wide footpegs with heel guards, foldable footboards for stretching, and three riding modes (Street, Explore, Eco). Standard equipment includes cruise control, 5-inch colour TFT with MyRide connectivity and Garmin navigation support, smart key, and self-cancelling indicators.

It is designed for both city use and light off-road exploration.

Yamaha RW700 and RW700 Explore

The larger RW700 (and better-equipped Explore variant) bring motorcycle-level capability to the scooter format.

Both use Yamaha’s 689cc CP2 parallel-twin engine producing 69.3 hp (51 kW) and 65 Nm, paired with a six-speed Y-AMT automated manual transmission (chain drive) that allows fully automatic or manual paddle-shift operation. An A2-restricted 35 kW version is also planned.

Chassis highlights include a high-tensile steel frame, 41 mm inverted forks (160 mm travel), rear monoshock (155 mm travel), 17-inch front and 15-inch rear wheels with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres, 170 mm ground clearance, and 221 kg wet weight (Explore slightly higher).

Features cover a 5-inch TFT with connectivity, multiple riding modes, IMU-linked rider aids, cruise control, underseat storage, and 14-litre fuel tank. The Explore adds more touring-oriented equipment such as adjustable suspension elements and heated options in some markets.

These models aim directly at Honda’s X-ADV segment.

Yamaha NMAX E

Yamaha has launched the electric NMAX E as a zero-emission take on its popular sports scooter platform.

It uses a new eAxle drive unit with a three-phase motor delivering 7.5 kW peak (nominal around 6.7 kW) and 33.3 Nm of torque. A fixed 3.5 kWh lithium-ion battery (L-shaped for packaging) claims up to 104 km range under the WMTC Class 1 cycle. An integrated 800 W fanless charger takes roughly 5.5 hours for a full charge from empty.

It rides on 13-inch wheels with dual discs and ABS, offers three riding modes (S, T and E), traction control, a 5-inch colour TFT with smartphone connectivity via the Yamaha Motor On app, keyless ignition, USB-C charging, illuminated underseat storage and a reverse function. Seat height is 770 mm.

Yamaha XENTER E

Yamaha has returned to the high-wheel scooter segment with the electric XENTER E, aimed at A1-licence urban riders.

It shares the same eAxle powertrain as the NMAX E: 7.5 kW peak, 33.3 Nm and a 3.5 kWh fixed battery, this time claiming 108 km range (WMTC Class 1). Charging is identical (integrated 800 W unit, about 5.5 hours 0-100 per cent), with Type 2 public charger compatibility.

It features 16-inch wheels for better stability on imperfect city surfaces, a flat floorboard, upright riding position and a new underbone frame that centralises mass. Equipment includes a 5-inch TFT with connectivity and navigation, traction control, smart key, USB-C and reverse. Seat height is around 790 mm.

Availability is expected from March 2027.

TVS M1-S

TVS has shown the production-ready M1-S electric maxi-scooter for European markets.

It is powered by a permanent-magnet motor with 12.5 kW peak output and a 4.2 kWh battery. Claimed top speed is 105 km/h, with a WMTC range of around 120 km. Charging from 10-80 per cent takes about 75 minutes at 1.8 kW.

Practical features include 26 litres of underseat storage (full-face helmet capable), a seven-inch TFT display and integrated LTE connectivity. The battery sits low in the floorboard for a lower centre of gravity. It is positioned as a comfortable urban and suburban electric maxi-scooter.

Aprilia SXR 125 (MY27 Update)

Aprilia has updated the entry-level SXR 125 GT scooter for Europe.

The biggest change is the switch to larger 14-inch alloy wheels (from 12-inch) with 120/70-section tyres for improved stability. It retains a 125 cc air-cooled single producing about 10 bhp, a 220 mm front disc with combined braking system, and a relatively upright riding position with raised bars and a prominent windscreen.

New equipment includes a 5-inch colour TFT display with optional smartphone connectivity (calls, music and basic navigation via the MIA system) plus revised switchgear. New colours are also offered. It remains focused on urban practicality.
