MG Windsor EV Gets A Price Hike Of Up To ₹60,000, BaaS Variants Become Cheaper

JSW MG Motor India has updated the pricing of the Windsor EV for all variants. Although the typical initial purchase costs have increased overall, customers choosing the Battery-as-a-Service option will discover the Windsor EV to be more economical than previously.

Standard Price Revisions

Beginning with the standard price adjustments, the base Excite model offered solely with the 38kWh battery pack sees the largest increase of ₹60,000 and now starts at ₹14.70 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Exclusive and Essence trims each receive a revision of ₹46,900, now priced at ₹16 lakh and ₹17 lakh, respectively.

Moving to the larger 52.9kWh battery pack variants, the Exclusive Pro increases by ₹51,900, while the top-end Essence Pro gets a ₹39,900 hike.

BaaS Price Revisions

On the BaaS front, the pricing moves in the opposite direction. The Essence and Exclusive BaaS variants have seen a price drop of ₹13,100 each, making the Windsor EV more affordable for buyers who prefer to separate the battery cost from the upfront price of the car.

However, the Exclusive Pro BaaS rate has been raised by ₹51,900, and the Essence Pro BaaS has increased by ₹39,900.

Range and Competition

In terms of range, the 38kWh battery pack asserts a range of 332km, whereas the 52.9kWh version offers 449km on a complete charge.

Given its price, the Windsor EV competes with the Tata Nexon EV, Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, Toyota Ebella, and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV within the compact electric SUV segment.
