Tata Motors has created a major stir in the Indian SUV space with the revival of the Sierra, which recorded around 70,000 bookings on the very first day after reservations opened. Alongside confirmed bookings, Tata also received over 1.35 lakh configuration requests, showing unusually strong early demand.
The new Sierra is positioned above the Tata Curvv and is aimed squarely at the midsize SUV segment. It is expected to be offered with three 1.5-litre engine options, including a naturally aspirated petrol producing roughly 110 PS, a more powerful 1.5-litre turbo-petrol expected to deliver around 160 PS and 250 Nm, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine with torque figures close to 280 Nm.
Transmission choices are expected to include 6-speed manual, 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, and 6-speed torque-converter automatic units, depending on the engine and variant chosen
In terms of equipment, the Sierra is set to focus heavily on premium appeal. Key highlights include a triple-screen dashboard layout, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, Level 2 ADAS, premium audio, and a spacious, lounge-style rear seat layout. With deliveries expected to begin in early 2026, the Sierra is shaping up as a high-volume, high-impact launch for Tata Motors.
