1. Just ₹11.49 lakhs is insane for what it offers
The Sierra has arrived with a sharp first impression on price and availability. Tata launched the 2025 Sierra at an introductory ex show room price of ₹11.49 lakh, with bookings opening mid December and deliveries expected from January 15, 2026. That starting figure puts the Sierra in direct contention with mainstream midsize SUVs while offering a punchy feature list from day one.

2. Throwback design is its biggest USP, IMHO
Design is where the Sierra makes a statement. The new model reinterprets the original’s boxy silhouette with a taller, wider stance and clean surfacing. It uses full width LED light bars, flush fitting door handles with illumination and a strong B pillar treatment that creates the faux Alpine window effect. Visual details such as gloss black cladding and available 19 inch alloys give it an upright, planted look that reads larger than its numbers on paper.
3. Rear Seats are pretty big
Tata has aimed for real interior presence, not just clever styling. The Sierra offers either a two screen or a three screen dashboard layout with a 10.25 inch digital cluster and a 12.3 inch central touchscreen, plus a 12.3 inch co passenger screen on higher trims. Leatherette upholstery, multi colour ambient lighting, a dashboard mounted soundbar and a large panoramic sunroof combine to deliver a lounge like cabin that feels both airy and premium.
4. Boot can fit a small hatch inside
Space and cargo are genuine strengths. Tata claims a boot capacity of 622 litres measured up to the roof and a maximum loading volume of 1,257 litres with the rear seats folded, using a 60:40 split. The wheelbase stretches to 2,730 mm, which translates to roomy rear legroom and shoulder space. Occupants up to six feet tall should find headroom generous even with the panoramic roof fitted.
5. That Hyperion engine looks like a beast

Powertrain choices are wide and practical. The Sierra line up includes a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol with about 106 hp and 145 Nm, a brand new 1.5 litre direct injection turbo petrol delivering 160 hp and 255 Nm, and a 1.5 litre diesel rated at around 118 hp and up to 280 Nm on some automatic variants. Transmissions include a 6 speed manual, a 7 speed dual clutch automatic for the NA petrol and torque converter automatics for the turbo petrol and diesel.
This variety means buyers can prioritise economy, outright performance or towing and highway work.
6. CNG, Hybrid- Maybe!
The Sierra is built on Tata’s ARGOS architecture which Tata describes as All Terrain Ready, Omni Energy and Geometry Scalable. The ARGOS base is designed to be compatible with future hybrid or CNG powertrains and even all wheel drive systems. That scalability is meaningful because it allows the Sierra to evolve beyond the current front wheel drive range, and it also supports claimed capability figures such as 205 mm ground clearance and 450 mm water wading.
As per Autocar India, An AWD Tata Sierra is all set for 2027 debut. Currently, only FWD models are being sold
7. Adaptive suspension in this segment is unheard of

Ride and handling get concrete engineering attention. The top variants feature frequency dependent damping and a Superglide suspension set up to adapt to road roughness. Drivers can select City or Sport drive modes for the powertrain and use three terrain settings labelled Auto, Wet and Rough to tune traction control. A claimed turning diameter of 10.6 m makes the Sierra surprisingly easy to manoeuvre for a vehicle with such a tall stance.
8. Dolby Atmos and a Soundbar!

Tata has pushed the Sierra’s audio and multimedia experience hard. The cabin can be fitted with a JBL 12 speaker system including a subwoofer and a dedicated dashboard soundbar tuned for Dolby Atmos and Dolby 5.1 like effects. The three screen layout allows the front passenger to consume content on their own 12.3 inch screen while the driver uses the central unit for navigation and vehicle controls.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on higher trims, along with wireless phone charging and multiple fast charging USB C ports.

9. Industry first Level 2 Plus Adas
Safety and assistance are headline items. The Sierra comes with six airbags as standard, all wheel disc brakes, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child mounts and hill hold. Higher variants include a Level 2 ADAS suite with more than twenty features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning and lane keep assist. The Sierra is expected to score strongly when its Bharat NCAP results are published.
10. Handsome colors
Practicality and small but important details make it livable every day. The Sierra offers a powered gesture tailgate, cooled glovebox, rear sunshades, two stage rear seat recline and boss mode for the front passenger. Colour choices include Munnar Mist, Andaman Adventure and Bengal Rouge, and the Munnar Mist shade is notable for its light shifting quality that moves from dark grey to green in different lighting.
That level of detail, combined with the Sierra’s mix of technology, space and engine choice, explains why Tata price positioned it from ₹11.49 lakh and expects strong early interest.
Interestingly the Sierra is not available in black color. I am guessing thy are saving it for Tata Sierra Dark Edition which should debut next year
11. Roq Package
The Roq Edition accessory pack is priced at Rs. 50,000, and Tata will also offer extra equipment such as a metal roof rack, a foldable ladder and a set of branded portable appliances for an additional Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000. This setup is designed to make the Sierra genuinely more capable for outdoor trips, not just to dress it up.
The heavier cladding helps protect the bodywork on rough trails, the added storage and mounting points make carrying gear easier, and the tailgate cushions create a relaxed space to sit at campsites.
