MG Motor India has introduced a new fleet-only version of the Windsor EV, called the Windsor Commute.
Priced at Rs 13.49 lakh ex-showroom, it is Rs 61,000 cheaper than the base Excite variant. It is designed for cab operators and fleet buyers who want reliable electric mobility at lower costs.
The Commute uses the same 38 kWh battery pack from the standard range Windsor EV variants. It delivers an ARAI-certified range of 332 km on a full charge, with its single motor setup producing 134 bhp and 200 Nm of torque.

A 7.4 kW AC charger can charge it up from 10-100% in 7 hours, while a 45 kW DC fast charger takes the battery from 20-80% in around 45 minutes.
To keep costs low and maximise functionality, MG has removed a few premium features from this variant.
The large 10.1-inch touchscreen is gone, replaced with a simple infotainment system with USB, FM radio and Bluetooth connectivity. The alloys are replaced with 17-inch steel wheels without wheel covers, and the interior features an all-black cabin with gold accents and fabric seats.
While there are quite a few omissions, the Commute variant also retains many useful features from the Excite variant. These include LED projector headlights, flush door handles, power windows, cruise control, a 7-inch digital driver display, reclining 60:40 split rear seats, keyless entry and auto climate control.

Safety kit covers dual airbags, hill-hold assist, TPMS, and disc brakes on all four wheels.
If you are a fleet operator, you can also choose the BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) plan. This option will let you rent the battery separately, bringing down the upfront cost even further.
