The concepts and their production-ready versions will leverage a new platform called the ‘Freedom_NU’, which will also be unveiled at the event. Keep reading to know more about these concepts and the platform.
Mahindra Vision S Concept
The Vision S is expected to be a new SUV in the Mahindra Scorpio lineup, possibly a hybrid or all-electric counterpart of the Scorpio N. In the teaser, the Vision S concept was seen sporting the Scorpio’s typical bold and muscular look, but with an upright nose, a hooded bonnet with scoops, and flared wheel arches with angular cladding and chunky off-road tyres.

The Vision S will be underpinned by Mahindra’s all-new versatile Freedom_NU platform, capable of supporting ICE, electric, and hybrid powertrains. With Mahindra’s recent shift to premium electric SUVs through the BE 6 and XEV 9E, we may see a Scorpio N EV in the future. This SUV, once production-ready, may rival the Tata Harrier EV or upcoming Sierra EV. A hybrid variant cannot be ruled out either, and could even be the more practical option, as EV charging infrastructure is still sparse, unlike fuel pumps.
Mahindra Vision SXT Concept
The Vision SXT concept, also debuting at the Freedom_NU event along with the Vision S concept, is a rugged, utility-focused pickup truck, likely a derivative of the Scorpio N or an evolved Global Pik Up concept, built for both off-road capability and daily usability. The teaser showed a clamshell bonnet, external door hinges, chunky off-road tires, a load area with strapped-on spare tires, and a unique see-through tailgate section, alongside creased bonnet lines, angular wheel arches, and a tough-as-nails suspension with visible coil springs.

Also utilizing the Freedom_NU platform, it is likely targeted towards global markets like Australia and South Africa for a potential 2026 launch. Teasers from July 28 and July 30 confirm its pickup truck configuration and rugged Scorpio N-based design.
Mahindra Vision T Concept
The Vision T is the third concept slated for unveiling at the Freedom_NU event, and is widely anticipated to be a near-production-ready evolution of the Thar.E electric. This off-roader was first showcased in 2023, combining Mahindra’s iconic off-road heritage with advanced electric vehicle technology. Teasers shared by Mahindra hinted at the Vision T concept retaining the signature Thar design language, sporting a boxy silhouette, squared-off wheel arches, chunky off-road tires, visible bonnet latches, and a rugged, upright stance.

Expected to be built on the Freedom_NU platform, which supports ICE, hybrid, and electric powertrains, the Vision T is likely to feature dual-motor all-wheel drive, positioning it as a premium electric off-roader upon its expected 2026 launch.
Mahindra Vision X Concept
The Vision X concept, also set to debut at the Freedom_NU event, is a sleek, urban-focused SUV that diverges from Mahindra’s rugged off-road lineage, likely previewing a new model in the XUV family. This could be the XUV 3XO in hybrid or electric guise, or a new compact SUV altogether. Teasers from July 18 and 20 reveal a sophisticated design with a layered fascia, bumper-mounted headlamps, wheel-arch cladding, and aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels, suggesting a crossover-inspired aesthetic with stylish, athletic bonnet lines.

The Vision X will be underpinned by the Freedom NU platform as well, aiming to compete in the compact and midsize SUV segments, with a potential launch in 2026.
Barring the common platform sharing, all other technical specifications of these concepts, such as battery capacity, performance, and range, are unknown, though the Vision S and Vision T are rumoured to be closer to production. These specifications, along with a production timeline, could be revealed during the Freedom_NU event. This development shows Mahindra’s commitment and preparation for the future, and versatile platforms like the Freedom_NU will help them keep costs low while maintaining a high production rate and appealing to more buyers seeking cars with different powertrains.
