Audi has introduced the new-generation A6 L, a long-wheelbase (LWB) version tailored specifically for China.
This model arrives nearly a year after the standard-wheelbase A6 was introduced globally, and it is built on the same Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture.
Audi A6L Dimensions

The A6 L measures 5,142 mm in length, which is 143 mm longer than its predecessor. Its wheelbase stands at 3,066 mm, providing noticeably more space in the rear cabin.
This extension includes longer rear doors and prioritises comfort for rear-seat passengers, making it well-suited for chauffeur-driven use, a popular preference in China.
The rear seats have been lengthened and thickened for added luxury.
Audi A6L Exterior
In terms of design, the A6 L retains much of the global model's design but features specific touches for the Chinese market.
These include a hexagonal grille with an intricate pattern and shiny trim, thin LED strips framing the illuminated Audi logo, and exclusive 21-inch alloy wheels.
Matrix LED headlights and OLED tail-lights are standard, along with an illuminated rear Audi logo in red.
A Deep Ocean Blue paint option is also available.

Audi A6L Interior Features

Inside, the cabin carries over a modern layout with a triple-screen setup, including an 11.9-inch digital cockpit, a 14.5-inch infotainment display, and a co-driver entertainment screen.
A large head-up display, Bang & Olufsen audio system (with 16 speakers), and a panoramic glass roof featuring 112 integrated RGB LEDs for customisable lighting enhance the experience.
Advanced driver assistance includes up to 28 autonomous features, LiDAR support, and Huawei's Qiankun Intelligent Driving suite with 33 sensors.
Audi A6L Technical Specifications
The A6L's powertrain choices focus on performance and efficiency.
The entry-level variant uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with mild-hybrid assistance, delivering 204 hp and 340 Nm (or up to 272 hp and 400 Nm in higher tunes), mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The top variant pairs a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine with an electric motor and a 1.7 kWh lithium battery, producing 367 hp (or up to 362 hp in some references) and 550 Nm.
This setup achieves 0-100 kph in 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 250 kph.
Front-wheel drive is standard, with Quattro all-wheel drive optional on select trims.

Audi A6L Rivals

The A6 L positions itself as a direct rival to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB and BMW 5 Series LWB, both of which have long catered to China's demand for spacious executive sedans.
Produced locally through the FAW-Audi joint venture, the model starts at CNY 323,000 (approximately Rs 43.35 lakh) and goes up to CNY 436,000 (around Rs 58.52 lakh).
This is a reduction of CNY 104,900 (about Rs 14 lakh) compared with the previous generation launched in 2018.
With this debut, Audi strengthens its lineup in China, where the brand offers nearly 20 models.
While a launch in India is currently uncertain, its long-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz and BMW rivals are being sold here.
